16 yr old Liza's off-B'way debut in BFW. I remember seeing her on the Ed Sullivan Show doing that number. Or, did I only think I did?
I enjoy the way Liza sings "You Are For Loving" on the 1963 Cast Recording.
Funny, I was just watching the 1943 Film Version (with Lucille Ball) on TCM the other day.
By the way, did you know that Richard Rodgers was an uncredited Associate Producer on the original Broadway Production of BEST FOOT FORWARD?
(As I heard it, he didn't want to hurt Larry Hart's feelings by seeing what it was like to be a solo producer...)
I just remembered another bit of Trivia...
During World War II, the lyrics of "Buckle Down, Winsocki" were slightly altered so it could be used as an inducement for men to join the army: "Buckle Down, Buck Private."
I have Liza on Ed Sullivan singing "Just a Little Joint With a Jukebox," which I believe is from that show.
Yes, PJ, that song CERTAINLY is from BEST FOOT FORWARD. You can hear it sing it on the CD I mentioned earlier.
She does some faux-Fosse choreography with a bunch of wonderfully nellie chorus boys. Not sure if they're from the show too or just a bunch of boys she got for the Sullivan show.

Does anyone else remember when this became a jingle to promote seat belt use?
BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY, BUCKLE UP!
Liza at Carnegie Hall(imitating feathered
fowl):"Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck..Buck-le Down"
PJ -- I think those chorus boys were her future boyfriends and husbands
