Bug jewelry

Yes, it is true. Tonight while I was ushering one of the porters discovered a little box somewhere in the theatre. It contained a live three-inch roach studded with rhinestones and presumably with a pin attached, to be worn as a brooch. Apparently there are also rings like this out there. What the HELL? Now, I know roaches don't have much dignity to begin with, but this seems not only disgusting and bizarre to me, but downright cruel. Anyone else seen this?
