Yes, it is true. Tonight while I was ushering one of the porters discovered a little box somewhere in the theatre. It contained a live three-inch roach studded with rhinestones and presumably with a pin attached, to be worn as a brooch. Apparently there are also rings like this out there. What the HELL? Now, I know roaches don't have much dignity to begin with, but this seems not only disgusting and bizarre to me, but downright cruel. Anyone else seen this?

The use of bugs in jewelry -- real, dried bugs set in precious metals -- has been around forever. Pins, tiaras, necklaces, bracelets. Live ones? eww.

That you found it in the box...well.

He: Darling, before we go to the show, I have a gift for you. To symbolize just how special tonite is.

She: Oh, Darling, thank you so...it's a bug.

He: but it has rhinestones on it, and a cute little leash to clip to your...

She: It's a roach. You want me to wear a live roach.

He: A unique pin for a unique woman

She: Well, I'll just, um, it kind of clashes with my, ah, why don't I just put it in my purse here? I'm sure I won't lose it...
