Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

"Karl is fighting for his life," the official added, "but anything he did was done to help George W. Bush....

Asked if he believed indictments were forthcoming, a key Bush official said he did not know, then added: "I'm very concerned it could go very, very badly."

re: Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

Bill Kristol, editor of the conservative Weekly Standard, says the "mood is bleak" at the White House as the await the indictments, "pretty grim."

"The net has been cast wide,” Kristol told Fox News Tuesday. "Lots of junior aides have testified. It’s been a very comprehensive investigation by the prosecutor. I think there will be indictments and the mood is pretty bleak in the White House.”

And rumor has it that Fitzgerald just got a second aide to turn on Cheney.

re: Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

I have a hard time believing that Bush would ever make Rove's life any more miserable than it already is...Rove constructed him out of nothing. He owes any and all success to Karl and this is just a defense for Bush, should his name come up in this affair. "You see, Rovie did a bad thing, and I called him out for it, that's just not me." I can see it now....

I wanted to crack wise that if GW really wanted to make Karl miserable, he'd install full-length mirrors in the West Wing...but I'm far too mature for that.

re: Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

I've been hanging on my multiple truthwillout emails and needless to say, the extensive and exhaustive array of Pal Joey posts, which are as up-to-date with facts, rumors, and inside the beltway climate checks as anyone could want. Thank you, as always, PJ.

At this point, though, the suspense fans the flames for the investigation's end going either way. If some of the President's men (and women -- if this damns the membership of W.H.I.G.) fall, we've had building expectation to create 11th hour drama. But if there are no indictments, the same will be true. The gloating that will erupt from Fox to Scott McC. and beyond may give these arrogant deceivers new and even more dangerous confidence. Rove and Scooter will simply become more careful as they design their next bit of skullduggery and revenge. I find that thought frightening, and the wait excrutiating.

re: Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

At first glance the topic title of this thread translates that Karl Rove had an affair with Valerie Plame and Georgie Bush is just furious....

Would that this were true.

re: Bush Made Rove's Life Miserable Over Plame Affair

I've often thought that Karl and George were lovers...

Auggie--if there are no indictments, the resulting firestorm may be even worse.

I'm more worried about Rove orchestrating a Saturday Night Massacre, like Nixon tried to pull off.

Bush Lied to the American People

Josh Marshal points out that if Bush KNEW that Karl and Dick outed Plame, Bush lied to Fitzgerald, the media and American people when he said:

"Listen, I know of nobody -- I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."

and

"If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of.... [I don't know] "anybody in my administration who leaked classified information."

Of course, he didn't lie about anything important, like a blowjob or anything...

Bush Lied to the American People

Here's the second Cheney aide to provide the prosecution with evidence that the leak was a coordinated effort by Cheney’s office to discredit Wilson. His name is David Wurmser:
