Bush's numbers are plunging faster than Beyonce's necklines.

Newsweek reports that:

"only 36 percent of Americans approve of the job he is doing as president, and an astounding 68 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the direction of the country—the highest in Bush’s presidency. But that’s not the worst of it for the 43rd president of the United States, a leader who rode comfortably to reelection just a year ago. Half of all Americans now believe he’s not “honest and ethical.” "

Even his old tricks of shuffle and blame are not working. With most networks calling "Shenaigans" on his attempts to claim that the Congress has the same intel as he before the war.

And, Rove is still on the hot seat. Cheney's numbers are falling, and Alito may not be the rabid conservative those in the far right counted on (though that is still up for debate).

Could make for a very interseting holiday season.

Gee, wouldn't it have been nice for the American people to have realized all of this about a year ago?

On the other hand, it makes me feel slightly vindicated. "See? We TOLD you he was an awful President."

Well, there are still 36% who approve of this man. Which is higher than Bush 1 at his lowest, Carter, and others. Bush still appeals to a core group of americans who believe his religious beliefs more than make up for any other failings. I wonder how they will explain their support to their children in 20 years?

Unfortunately, telling folks "I told you so" does not do much to help us in the near term. Dems re-taking one (or both) of the houses in 2006, that is a good place to start.

Yeah, and all because a few hundred thousand "social conservatives" in Florida and Ohio just HAD to keep us evil homosexuals from taking over the world...

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

Arianna's headlines say it all:

President's Approval Rating Falls To Record Low

Sixty-Eight Percent Of Americans Dissatisfied With Direction Of Country

Fifty-Two Percent Believe Vice President Part Of CIA Leak Cover-Up

Majority Believes Bush 'Won't Be Able To Get Much Done For The Rest Of His Second Term'...

And, not much has been accomplished since January? I cannot think of a single piece of major legislation and this with "unified" government.

Sometimes, with these bozos in office, doing nothing is in itself a major success.

President's approval rating at 36%? Hmmmmm??? What surprises me is that it's that high.
