Today we're perilously close to losing our grip on that republic."

Try living in NY state where under Governor "I Am A Steamroller " Spitzer the entire budget was crafted behind closed doors by Joe Bruno & Sheldon Silver & than voted on without members of the Senate or Assembly knowing what was in it
What about Sandy Berger taking documents out & destroying them?
If you believe secrecy in government started with GWB here is a newsflash "It did not"

Posted: 4/20/07 at 6:47pmFirst of all, I know that secrecy did not start with GWB he has only elevated it to an art form. I guess he is trying to outdo Nixon. Second, it's just interesting to me that a thread about Bush excuses gets you to bring up Sandy Berger. Apples and Oranges. But I guess the Republican talking points on combating any negative comments about GWB is to bring up Sandy Berger so at least you follow the party line.

Secondly, it never ceases to amaze me that when someone brings up Democratic transgression, the subject is shifted & the one questioning them is attacked. I was not surprised by your response
Both parties **** in my eyes.I do not think GWB is Hitler's lost son . I would love to be able to have a ratioanl conversation on politics but when every statemnt re GWB is that he is Satanic, it is a tad difficult to do so

If you fail to see the difference between something that someone does in office and something someone does out of office, and who are responsible to the people of USA, then there is no point is any rational conversation.

By the way, one of the board stalwarts compared me to the VT shooter. This is the compassion I have heard so much about from the other side
