According to Drudge Report, tomorrow's NY TImes will report "Intense internal Bush admin. debate over how and under what conditions president should declare that American troops will begin to pull back from Iraq... Developing..."
So if it's true, and Bush changes course what will the Republican Talking Points be? They never wanted a war? They've been waiting for the Democrats to realize the war was a mistake? It's Clinton's fault?
Drudge Report (there's no more there yet)
Well there's been debate in the West Wing for a long time, but I wonder what the Times is reporting. I would be surprised if the pro-pullout voices are finally being heard.
Were those the same west wing conversations that said that Gonzales would be out on Good Friday?
LOL
Anyone who finds debate over this bloody debacle -- look at the deaths in the past 48 hours alone, what, 177? -- "LOL"-worthy is hardly a moral voice on the subject of war and peace. Shame on you.

Don't listen to him. Like most neocons he feasts on the blood of the innocents and can only be killed by the sound of children's laughter.
Yes, they ARE the same West Wing conversations. And many of the administration voices who want Bush to take the lead in a pullout are the voices that want him to accept Gonzales's resignation.
Ultimately, I think they'll prevail, too.
But Bush is as stubborn as he is stupid.

From what I see in the papers today A Change is Going to Come. I imagine that mainly, the argument circles around when and how and how to explain it. I think they will just send the troops to Iran and say "We have ALWAYS been at war with Iran. WE have never been at war with Iraq!"

1984. that's what this is turning into.
Um... unless the hydrocarbon laws have been approved by the Iraqi parliment we aren't going anywhere. Last I heard we were waiting on them to say yes to privatize their oil.
Even if there is a pull-out date, it's going to be no earlier than late '08, plus there will be residual troops in Iraq FOREVER.
