Buttons on Remote

I just counted the buttons on my new DIRECTV remote control and there are FOURTY-FOUR, including:

1) Two arrows that point in a semi-circle;

2) Four COLORED buttons;

3) One button that says 'Active' (Lord knows what THAT's for)

and

4) My absolute FAVORITE: a button which reads: ": :"


How MANY buttons are on YOUR remote? :)

What kind of button is that? Well, I just counted the remote next to me...twenty-nine buttons. I'm sure the one downstairs has about thirty-five.

Hee. In my parents' house the entertainment system requires the use of no fewer than 6 remote controls. It's pretty hilarious, in a tragic sort of way.

Per DIRECTV customer support, the ": :" button is to pause my attached VCR or DVD player.

Fascinating, isn't it? :)

120 buttons between 3 remotes. (VCR, TV/DVD, and Stereo/surround sound)
DJ because we can! That's like asking "why do people pop bubble wrap?"

my remote is a custom-made touch screen thing that looks like a game boy. in actual buttons, there are three on each side of the screen- one for the tivo, one for the direct tv, off, on, fireball, mute. everything else is in the screen.

i'll count the buttons later. but i have the record... SEVEN working remotes. 2 for the tv, 1 for the satellite, 2 for the VCR, 1 for the other VRC, and 1 for the DVD player. Updated On: 2/26/05 at 12:08 AM

wow evry1 has so much i only have one remote with 29 buttons if i were to go downstairs it owuld be a lot more and i have one of those touch screen remotes but im too lazy to go get it

55 on my Digital Box/DVR remote;
39 on my stereo remote;
31 on my VCR remote
47 on my DVD remote
24 on my TV remote

for a grand total of 196 buttons. What would I ever do without them all. I even have a remote for my car stereo!!! WTF?
