I was wondering if anyone has ever had a telephone interview with CAP 21 for their summer programs?? And if so, what kind of questions do they ask? Thanks!!
"You alone can make my song take flight, it's over now, the Music of the Night!!!!!"
If I'm not mistaken, this is their "audition" to get into their summer program? Right? isn't it for 18 or older? If so, a friend applied to it last year (I think it was NYU) and they just called and asked about their performing experience, what lessons they were taking, why they wanted to be an actor. It was real generic. They then told her she was admitted.
I thought this was real interesting that NYU did this cause, aren't they like a big musical theater school? And all they do to admit you is interview you on the phone? Isn't their program called "Professional Music Theater Trainign Program"? How professional are they if they accept performers based on a phone call? I guess it's just like Stagedoor who takes anyone who pays the tuition. If I were gonna spend my summer in a real training program, I would rather do it where my talent got me admitted...like a in a real music school. Places like University of Michigan and OCU require you to audition to get accepted. Guess that's why they're on top. But that's my opinion.
