They ask for two contrasting songs (this is for next summer; I'm starting early). I'm a 16-year-old girl. Are 'Home' from Phantom and 'A Part of That' ok?

"home" sounds like a good ballad choice, but people tend to avoid using jrb for audtion songs b/c the accompaniment is difficult to sightread.
perhaps look for an uptempo song from pre 1960/70, to show you also can do classic and contemporary rep.
That's what I've heard about JRB. I could do "Alone" (no one's ever heard of it; it's from A Night at the Opera), but it's too uptempo. I want to do something belty! "Always True to You?"
Gimmie Gimmie???
Isn't that overdone? And I don't want to be compared to Sutton Foster.
Yeah, you're right. That woman is amazing. Break a leg ,though.
as someone who went to cap for 3 summers, I have heard every song that the PRE COLLEGERS sing in their rooms and Gimmie Gimme , Not For The Life Of Me, Always True To You are SO over done. What else can we find for you??
What about : -I'm Not At All In Love from Pajama Game? It's a great uptempo you can belt / use your head voice with it.
-Wherever He Ain't from Mack and Mabel shows balls and it's a great uptempo / look what happened to mabel is another great one
-S S Bernard Cohn I think it's from Sailaway?? Very cute NEVER done uptempo
Great suggestions! I'll look at those!
