I've heard that the Lisbon shows are being taped for DVD too. (And I've also heard that the Paris shows rocked!)

About why Blond Ambition was never released on VHS/DVD: Pioneer was Madonna's sponsor for the Blond Ambition tour, and a part of the deal was that it would only be released on Laserdisc, a video format that Pioneer was pushing heavily at the time. But Laserdiscs fell to the wayside, because of their clunky size.

Since it has been so many years, there have been whispers during the past year that Blond Ambition would finally be released on DVD as part of a box set of Madonna's live performances. But these are just rumours, and very early and suspect ones at that.
