Is it skipping on your CD player? If it is, try a cleaning kit.

No it's pretty much skipping everywhere....I have some pretty mean scratches on some of my cds

Try the cleaning kit anyway. Works wonders, even with scratches.
This is probably terrible for them (but I've done it from time to time and never really had any problems)...but if you're in a pinch and can't get a repair kit, sometimes I take some liquid dish soap and rub it on (after putting some water on the CD first), in a circular motion, rinse and let the CD air dry...I suppose if they're pretty shot it couldn't do any more harm, right??

I think rubbing it harshly could very well do new damage. That's why when repair kits turn the wrong way or run out of liquid they can ruin your CDs.
Oh, I'm sure it's not the best thing to do to your CDs, but I know I use the liquid dish soap as a last resort at school from time to time, and a gentle rub has worked for me on a couple of CDs that were pretty trashed. No more skips, and they still play...or at least played well enough until I got home and could give them a proper once over w/ a Skip Doctor.

I thought I read that nail polish (or something like that) works. Don't quote me on that, tho lol
we got one of those skip doctors, used it on two skipping CDs, and it didn't fix either one of them
Yeah, my Wicked and Rent CD's I have listened to so much that it barley plays, LOL

I was trying to play me FOSSE cd today, and it would NOT play!!
I guess I'll have to get a new one because when I used one of those CD cleaning kits on my RENT cd, it did NOTHING!
Burn a copy. Most likely the copy will play perfectly! (Let me know if this works.)

This is the way to repair scratched CDs (no joke):
Get a soft-bristled toothbrush and regular, old-fashioned toothpaste (no gels, abrasives or anything else). Dampen the toothbrush and apply a small amount of the toothpaste to the bristles. Starting from the center of the CD, gently but firmly brush out to the edges around the perimeter of the disc. Rinse and dry thoroughly. If the disc still skips, repeat the process. This will usually solve most scratched CD problems.
