Cher does have a movie coming out next year with Tim Allen, Britney Spears and Bette Midler. I can't even type that without making the "wtf" face. I miss Cher as an actress, too, but Namo is very correct. Her face just doesn't move. It's specifically her lips, I think. In Faithful, she was kissing Chazz Palminteri and it's looked very strange.
I would love to see her in Vegas. I would think it would be difficult with her CFS, though. Eh, I am still trying to hold on to my fanaticism.

Jersey - I have seen nearly every live performance Cher has done in the US since I was 13 years old. This includes a stint at the Fairmont Hotel in SF with Sonny before the TV show, and Come Back to the 5&10 Jimmy Dean off Broadway - she is fabulous.

I thought once you had it, you had it. I mean, it effected her for years. I have been wrong many, many times, though. And I thought the Farewelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll tour was WAY too much like Believe. Too much filler and I hate Believe. I was hoping she wouldn't end on that for the final number. I enjoyed Cyndi more than Cher the second time.
ETA:
My Cher obsession started when the self titled album came out mid 80s. I own every movie on video (including Good Times, Chastity and Jimmy Dean.) I have 24 Cher CDs, 4 Sonny & Cher CDs, Chastity's band, Ceremony's CD and one of Elijah's . It's not what it used to be, but my god, I worshipped the woman. I hate that she seems to have disappeared. Supposedly she is dating Lee Tergesen. (Who has a rather small penis from the pic I just found when Googling him!)
Wow, Cher is on Extra now. New DVD release of Moonstruck coming out with more Cher commentary. Dammit.

Posted: 4/11/06 at 7:21pmI remember that the song believe was done the same in both shows, but the rest of the farewell tour was different than the Believe tour wasn't it? I like to be in a certain "state of mind" when I go to concerts so my memory of them is a little fuzzy. I just remember really liking the Cher through the ages portion of the Farewell tour.
#31re: CHER TO REPLACE CELINE IN VEGAS??
Posted: 4/11/06 at 7:30pmI thought she did the exact same thing on the Believe tour. She came out in the long straight wig and Bob Mackie gown and sang The Way of Love in both shows, right? I just remember crying when she did it the first time. I am a gay man trapped in a bisexual woman's body.
#32re: CHER TO REPLACE CELINE IN VEGAS??
Posted: 4/11/06 at 7:55pmI only remember that moment from the Farewell tour, but I was in nose bleed for Believe, and on the floor for Farewell so maybe it just had a stronger impact on me the second time.

I think Cher and Vegas is a perfect match. It would be a lot of fun! Although, a part of me wishes she would get back to serious acting. But if she's going to continue to perform in concert, I think they could design a spectacular show around her.
And Namo... you're an infected pus-filled boil on the ass of this board. You're positively loathsome. What a sad and pathetic tortured creature you are.

It's not like she's never done Vegas. I'm not sure what the big deal is.
I saw the Believe tour and then saw the video of The So Long, Farewell, No Seriously, I'm Really Going Now, This is It, Goodbye, For Real This Time, Seriously, Farewell, Hang up, YOU Hang Up, Okay, Stop It, Goodbye, Seriously, Farewell, Bye, Ciao, Toodle Loo, Auf Weinerschnitzel, Farewell, I'm Really Really Going, Ta Ta, Fare-Thee-Well, Buh-Bye, Farewell, Thank You, I Love You, Goodnight, Okay, One More Time: So Long, Farewell, No Seriously, I'm Really Going Now, This is It, Goodbye, For Real This Time, Seriously, Farewell, Hang up, YOU Hang Up, Okay, Stop It, Goodbye, Seriously, Farewell, Bye, Ciao, Toodle Loo, Auf Weinerschnitzel, Farewell, I'm Really Really Going, Ta Ta, Fare-Thee-Well, Buh-Bye, Farewell, Thank You, I Love You, Goodnight, Okay, FAREWELL Tour and there was an incredible amount of overlap between the two shows. Too much, if you ask me. And the exact same "video content," as they say in the biz. "The Way of Love" was exactly the same. And though staged differently, why on earth open two tours with "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Lookin' For?"

Dame... I love them both. I've seen Cher in concert twice. She always puts on a great show! The only time I saw Tina perform live was way back in the day when she opened for the Stones. But, of course, I've seen tapes/DVDs of her in concert and know she still has what it takes. I think her filling in for Cher from time to time is a great idea! If I were in Vegas I'd be inclined to see either one of them. But Cher will always hold a special place in my heart. I've been in love with her forever. My fondest memories are of locking myself in my room, dressing up in a caftan and wig, and enacting her runway entrances at the beginning of the Cher show along with her. I must have been all of 12 or 13. Even now, every once in a while, when I find myself alone and the mood strikes me, I become CHER!!!

I saw Tina Turners last concert tour at Indianapolis. Lionel Richie opened for her. The woman blew me away. She was running around on those fying platforms with high heals on and singing and dancing. I have never seen anything like that.
And Cher.. how can one not love her shows. She is fab and her concerts are always so well put togthether and structured.

Actually DAME - according to another thread, Roxy is watching the dvd of that Manilow concert as we type this.
And I agree with Roxy here - Celine's show was quite spectacular - not crap at all. Although I have an issue with the constant chest beating and masculine form - I mean, let's be real here - sometimes it's like watching a drag queen. But the staging and Cirque stuff mixed with her music was completely phenomenal.

You're not actually looking for taste from the queen who brought us "She was running around on those fying platforms with high heals on..." are you?
Quick! To the fying platforms!

Cheeze,
I saw Celines show in its second month. I understand they have re-worked alot of it. I am just no a big Celine person.
And namo.. Tinas talent does not need to be described. It is assumed. Don't you have some Jerry Springer to go watch?
