CW Post- Long Island#1
Posted: 3/31/08 at 3:33pmIs anyone familar with the BA/BFA in Theater Arts that CW Post offers? If so, how is it? I'm currently attending St. Joseph's College in Patchogue right now for History, minor in Secondary Education and a concentration in Theater but I'm thinking about tranferring to Post for next Spring for a BA in Theater, and also if possible continue with my History. If anyone has any information that would be great! Thanks :)

Oh, no. You do not want to go there.
Believe me, there are FAR better schools for theatre than CW Post. I only went there for my freshman year but it was a poor choice. I auditioned for the acting program (twice) and was rejected both times - not because I wasn't any good - but because the school had failed to notify me that auditions for the theatre program were closed. I thought they were still open and because I wasn't told otherwise, I still auditioned. They are horribly unorganized, and I don't know if much has changed since I left, but I still wouldn't reccomend it. A few of my friends are in the program, though.

C.W. Post's Theatre company is not for everyone, but I transferred in this year and I love it.
If you take a BA in Theatre, you would definitely be able to study History. The BA is less concentrated than the BFA. PM me for more details.
They accept a lot of transfer students so credits will transfer and everyone welcomes everyone in.
