Hey guys! I know there was a thread on this previously but I searched it and it seems to be gone! If anyone has ANY good ideas for audition songs for cabarret please please please let me know. Vocal range doesn't really matter because I'm going to be sharring this with a lot of people! Thank you sooo much this is the hardest audition I've ever had to prepare for! :) Please don't attack me for this post
I know it's annoying I just really need the help.

Something from Kander&Ebb, I'd say. What role are you auditioning for?

I'd suggest learning how to spell the name of the show you are auditioning for. That always helps.
Other than that, I second Franklin. Anything from the Kander and Ebb library will serve you well. Something from Sweet Charity might not be a bad idea either.

oh gosh you guys I'm sorry I do know how to spell I was just typing too fast
. It's my stupid fault it was just so late and I had a friend freaking out over here because she doesn't know what to sing either
. Do we really have to be quite so snappy though! I'm sure we've all made typos before...
Edit: I'm simply auditioning for the chorus...as a freshmen I would pretty much die if I just got to be like random chorus member number 500 in the back right corner...lol

Posted: 9/13/06 at 5:17pmAs the sort of chorus in Cabaret doesn't have ballads, you probably should take on an uptempo number. Maybe "All that Jazz" (Chicago) or "The Life of the Party" (The Happy Time). Or do "Where you are" (Kiss of the Spider Woman).

I actually don't think they appreciate it too much when you audition with a song from the show you're auditioning for. But maybe that's just me
As I just listened through "Woman of the Year" I'd like to add:
"I wrote the Book". That's a brillant piece for a Kander&Ebb audition.

Posted: 9/13/06 at 11:13pmI'm sorry! God someone just delete this I'm not in the mood to freaking deal with something as stupid as misspelling something. I'm sorry if I offended you all so much that you feel the need to express it with me. Anyways thanks to those of you who actually helped it's really nice. And I'm not a freaking idiot I wouldn't sing "cabaret" at the audition for the show...I've been doing this for long enough to know that that's not a good idea. I just wanted to know if any of you had any song suggestions. Aparently not.

Posted: 9/14/06 at 12:23amI do apologize. With your spelling and punctuation errors, I assumed you were a Junior High School student. I didn't realize you were a seasoned professional. Surely you realized that I was only kidding with the performance suggestion.

Were you also typing too fast when you created your username?
Without knowing your vocal type it's hard to suggest a song, but I recommend "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" if it fits well. It's K&E, but probably not one they'll hear 300 times.

I'm sorry you guys I know I've been way over dramatic. It's just it's been pretty hard for me to adjust to college the past few weeks and the stupidest things set me off. I do apologize for my spelling and punctuation errors lol. I'll make sure and double check everything from now on if it bothers people so much. Also jersey I do realize you were only kidding I'm sorry for being so snappy
. Also thanks for the suggestion patronus I'll be sure to look into it.
