California in Danger?

Well, 4 earthquakes in one week. All I can say is I'm glad I'm not living there right now. I can just feel that this is going to lead to a much bigger earthquake. We had gone without minor ones to relieve pressure for so many years.

With Gov. Gropenfurer in office, maybe the Republicans can use it as justification to go to war with Canada or something stupid like that.

re: California in Danger?

I feel the same way -- I honestly haven't felt ONE of the earthquakes, but I fear that they're leading up to something like '93.

However, someone also said all thse quakes might be a way of releasing pressure.

It worries me because I have a cousin in La Verne.

You couldn't pay me to live in California.

re: California in Danger?

Were the earthquakes localized, or was it the whole state that was effected?

re: California in Danger?

The were very localized...the earthquakes were, say, around 75 miles from me (I think. Where is Yucaipa?) - I didn't feel a thing. One was in Big Bear, didn't feel that. But some of my friends in North Hollywood did.

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

re: California in Danger?

baddad, I don't think you have to worry about any of us CA residents paying anyone to live here. We have too many here now.

Please know that we will be happy enough to take your tourist dollars, but you must exit the state upon completing any vacations, trips, or layovers ;oP

So, Elphaba, you should be excited that Palm Springs may become beach front property.....

re: California in Danger?

hehehe....actually, knock on wood, nothing major has ever happened here...we make shake, we may rattle, we may roll (and stop thinking those evil thoughts Byron) but we have never had any real earthquake damage in Palm Springs according to an oldtimer who has lived here for some years who was on TV a few nights ago

So that WAS an earthquake last night? I am in SF area and was watching my Daily show when I was "moved".

And I thought it was the neighbors trying out the bondage gear again...

re: California in Danger?

Yeah, I have family and friends in LA and friends in San Franscisco (Palo Alto actually). I tend to get more worried when I hear a hurricane is near Florida for some reason though.
