Boobs - Bowie is my hometown! If your friend (or her hubby) is working in Columbia, I'd buy a house in Columbia. The town has a great diversity of housing options and Howard County schools are excellent (as opposed to Prince Georges County, where Bowie is located). Everything you could ever need for family living is right there in Columbia. It's a well-planned out community.

Is Bowie considered a suburb? My mother in law has sold many homes in Maryland north of DC.

From Wikipedia:
"In 2006, Money magazine ranked Columbia (together with Ellicott City, its neighbor to the north) #4 out of the 100 "Best Places to Live" in the United States.[33] In 2008, Columbia and Ellicott City were ranked #8 on this list.[34] In 2010, Columbia and Ellicott City were ranked #2 on this list.[35] In 2012, Columbia and Ellicott City were ranked #8 on this list."

Brd - Bowie is a suburb of D.C. but it's to the east, halfway to Annapolis.

Football, as a whole, is just way too important in this country.
Funny Mooney being the people there told him that he wouldn't want to live in Columbia. Perhaps they don't want Jersey people living there and ruining their ranking lol

Dozens of trips to DC and I have only been to BWI and never Baltimore.
Boobs, I would also recommend living in Columbia if you work there. It's one of the first big planned communities in the country. Bowie is too far away. Ellicot City is close, but has a rural feel. Anywhere along the I95 corridor would be better for a commute. Hanover is starting to blossom -- mega mall and a casino!
They are being told that Columbia gets a little crazy at night. Damn that's where I'd live!
I just got a flu shot. It has been the highlight of my day - I WISH I had a contract to fight a vendor about - today would be a very good day for the company.

Good morning! I guess the thread is left to the devices of those of us who didn't take the day off from work. I have the Columbus Day holiday off - how about the rest of you? Maybe we should have made plans to meet up somewhere.
I'm around. Taking the afternoon off. No day off on Monday here.

Sorry to hear that Deet. No rest for the wicked.
Or you.
I did not even realize it was a holiday - at least traffic will be light.

Holidays that others had off and we didn't used to mean lighter traffic. These days, it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Well, People Magazine picked up the story today. They just tweeted it. I knew it was only a question of when. Surprised it took them this long.

C16 has not school Monday. The girls have classes. Mrs. Brd starts her new job on Monday. We are open but courts are closed.
Hey peeps! Home today. Doing laundry and other chores. iPhone 6 Plus ordered! Not being shipped until the 31st though. My 4S is dying, so hopefully the new one will last for many years. HC and I really hold on until our phones just give up.
