Chocolate truffles from Kee's.
Because it's June 28th.

EXCUSE ME - THERE ARE PARTY PHOTOS OUT ALREADY?!? I don't recall signing a release form...hmmm...must have been under the influence.
Home at last. What a fabulous weekend. And the best part was just beuing with all of you. I really do cherish the time we spend together - rare as it is. The left coast was, indeed, toasted and remembered fondly. We even talked about skyping the party to you guys.
Oh, and we've made plans.
Lots of plans.

"There WILL be a full-framily gathering!"
All I can hear in my head is, "Somehow . . . someday . . . somewhere!"
Don't worry, Tink. They were done without Shamey, too! She was off with the girl somewhere. It was me and Jonela. LOL!
MOONY!! Hi.

I just kind of assume that when anyone does a shot anywhere in the world, somehow or another Tink and Shamey are there in spirit

There in spirit, if not in the spirits.
GIRLY!
Made it home just in time - fierce storm raging outside. Hubby called to say that a fruiend of ours had a stroke over the weekend and is on life support. Yipes - you just never know, do you? "So hold this moment fast, And live and love As hard as you know how. And make this moment last, Because the best of times is now!"

So true, Moony - and sorry about your friend
Random question - how big does your 'To Be Filed' folder have to get before you just throw in the towel and admit that that IS your filing system?
I don't understand the question, Q.

I swear I just got everything caught up a little while ago, and now I feel like I've never filed anything before in my life!
Tink - your boy is in one heck of a fight to reach the Quarters - against a player with not much Slam pedigree. He'll probably pull it out, but this can't be a good thing headed into the quarters - especially with Rog, Rafa and mr. Murray already in with relative ease.

There WILL be a full-framily gathering!
I certainly hope so!!! Soon!
Ok ... I need your help. As much as I love theatre I am appalled at myself for being so ignorant about certain things. A friend wants to self-produce a play - she's tired of not getting cast and wants to act, dammit! She has asked me to direct said production, and we are on the search for a play. She wants something that will be a showcase piece for a woman in her 40s, something that will bring an audience more than friends and family either by it's content or name recognition. So far this is our short-list: (an my own personal star quotient)
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (**)
Death and the Maiden (***)
Six Degrees of Separation (**)
The House of Bernarda Alba (*****)
The Gene Pool (****) - play about an about-to-be 18-year-old being raised by lesbian parents who wants to find out about his bio-dad.
Do you all have any suggestions/comments on the above?

DD - for whatever reason, even though I'm not a fan of the piece, the first thing that popped into my head was DOUBT.
Also, a certain disdain for his work amongst 'theatuh people' aside, almost nothing brings an audience like the name Niel Simon. And there are a couple that provide lots of great opportunities. PLAZA SUITE gives actors a chance to do three completely different characters in the same piece, and THE GINGERBREAD LADY or CHAPTER TWO provide well-rounded characters. Just a thought.
I thought of DOUBT too, DD, as well as AGNES OF GOD. Juicy roles and lots of name recognition with both scripts. Nuns are hot on stage.

Also, EXTREMITIES is a tour-de-force for the woman - and the movie with Farrah (although quite awhile ago) got lots of press, so people might recognize the title.
THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE?

Old warhorse, but legendary for a reason: WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF. And I put THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA in the same category. Only thing with both of them is you need a very stong male, as well.
Not that there's anything wrong with that
Happy Happy to all.
I've officially moved out of the crazyhouse.
happy, happy to you, Shira, too!
It's very exciting and thrilling. I may finally become an almost independent woman. And I can tell ya, it's scaring me already!
Congrats shira , but I still like D2's idea from
A few yrs ago about you Me and the herd sharing a place

Harris, if the herd and I lived together, I'm afraid they wouldn't live very long. Veal milanese, braised shortribs - and that's just the cows. Thank goodness you don't have a pet chicken or well, delicious.
Oohhh, the possibilities for a one-season sitcom are almost limited!
