Posted: 5/20/10 at 4:46pmThe girl in the deli just told me that I'm always singing oldies ... I asked her to elaborate, and she said "You know, 80s music." I then ordered a triple white chocolate mocha ...

I could never hate you, DD, although I would have the opposite reaction; I'd much rather direct MY FAIR LADY than THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
ETA: Although I'd kill to play Max Detweiler. (sp?) Best role in the show.

THE MUSIC MAN is a brilliant show - so much in the material that people don't even realize! Have fun with it.
*btw, I know someone who would be a fabulous Mayor Shinn. just sayin'*

Okay, I just read the story about the new musical version of PHANTOM that's going to be running downtown, and this paragraph just has me laughing uncontrollably:
"Ms. Smith [the choreographer], an accomplished performer, also plays the role of Meg Giry in the production. The first act ends with the full-company singing a Kyrie choral while she performs an interpretive dance depicting Christine's plight - the number is a breathtaking end to the first act."
Really?

Posted: 5/20/10 at 5:35pmYou lost me at "interpretive dance."

Exactly, DD.
I don't know why, but the words "interpretive dance" always crack me up. Like the words "retarded midget."
*wonders how many BWWers I've offended now, and will there be a thread about it?*

Deet, my friend Brian (whom you've met), played Max his senior year in high school, I think it was. OMG. He was fabulous! He had people coming up to him that he never met, telling him how fantastic he was. That was the only time I ever went to one of his or his brother's h.s. productions more than once. I wish I could flippin' see it again.
And I'm not a fan of interpretive dance. It bores me. Maybe I just haven't seen anything fabulous enough.
Sorry if I've offended anyone.
ETA: And is this the vid y'all were talking about yesterday:

mark me in the category that does not understand interpretive dance. I always sit there like ??????
My dad played a street sweeper in his HS production of My Fair Lady. I have to hear the story any time I talk about seeing shows.

I played Paddington Bear. True, it was only the third grade play. But, it was the title role.
I wonder if Deet and DD have a part for someone with such a glorious resume.

I splurged a bit when out with my uncle last night. Instead of my boring normal grilled chicken, I had an irish creme sauce and mushrooms with it. mmmmmmm

We have the Seniors back today for farewell activities and it's the last day of classes, AND yearbboks are being distributed, so I have my hands full today.
I would guess that some peeps are recovering, some peeps are actually working (poor souls) and some peeps are apparently on an extended break from BWW.
Me? I'm stressed and hungry (one probably has a lot to do with the other).
