I liked Memphis a lot. Some have, some haven't. Haven't seen ALNM, so can't say if one deserved it moreso over the other.

When I'm in town, I must see some shows! Memphis, ALNM, Sondheim, Promises.
Anything else that I must see?

Unfortunately, I was acutely aware that I was watching CZJ during ALNM, but I wasn't enjoying the production (for various reasons) and just couldn't lose myself in the show. My problem, not CZJ's, I'm sure.
On another note, I see that God of Carnage is closing extra, extra early. I had wanted to catch it one more time, but memory will have to do.
I wish I could see it. If it tours, I'm going.
The Best Actress in a Musical race is a very interesting one this year. Montego Glover? You've probably deduced my reasons why she's a front runner. Catherine Zeta Jones? Besides the fact that she is giving a very good performance in the show, she is a bona fide star making an impressive Broadway debut. There's the race, right there.
But unfortunately Sherie Rene Scott, Christiane Noll and Kate Baldwin are the three Broadway workhorses who all gave (or are giving) exemplary, award-worthy performances that will most likely get lost in the scuffle between Hollywood Star Power and Politically Correct Award-giving.
There. I said it.

I purposefully passed on tickets to Memphis. I should probably just give in and go. Remind me again - what was your impression of the show?
I would absolutely love it, if one of those three came out in the lead.

Shh, don't tell Harris but so would I, Girly.
And MEMPHIS is one of those shows that isn't on the top of my list, but that I would like to see eventually. Maybe I'll go on Thursday night, while J2 goes to see something awful that no amount of bribing could get me to see with him.
American Idiot?
I unfortunately have not seen any of this year's nominated shows. But I did finally see some of last years lol.
I KNEW it D2
Its ok. Now repete after me . I love Sherrie
I love Kate B.
No, Girly. Jeez, can you imagine that? No, he's going to see some god-awful modern opera - one of those things where the music is all incessant buzzing with an occasional clang, and the voices all sound like a cat being boiled alive. The kind of tuneless s*** he loves.

God, I went to one of those once. Once.
I tried to keep an open mind, but my ears were open as well and it was painful. I ended up making out my grocaery shopping list during the last act.
And with that....I'm off to graduation (having stuffed myself with quiche and red velvet cake. They had salad, but really, why bother?).
Yeah, Moony, he took me to DR. ATOMIC at the Met last season. Our entire row left at intermission, so I stretched out and slept right through the detonation of the atomic bomb.
For Tink - no abs, but just a beautiful voice.

Tell the cows to drop an R. Sherie!
I just realized CZJ is the only one I haven't seen for that category.

I liked ALNM a lot! Except for Ms. ZJ. She was adequate.
