DG !!! *hugs* I am really having the time of my life...thanks to Wildcat & Doxy and some other fellows I've met here. They sure know how to make a guy feel welcomed. I saw a show tonight that I missed a lot of the jokes because I didn't know the people they were talking of, but still it was very enjoyable...and well the piano player became my savior of the evening and ask me to join him and some friends for a drink and then took me to a couple of the bars to check out the scene. Loads of fun. I love have people here just take you under their wing..and it's all because they are mutual friends of my good hearted friends who live here.

You can tell us all about it when you get home. As for now, I agree with Shamey - GET SOME SLEEP!

Not that we're trying to rid of you. I miss you like crazy. You know that.
And, if you're wide awake then please stay, but if you're tired. Go. We understand.

Oh, Polly, he's still there! He's like the little boy in the footie-pajamas who SLOWLY makes his way up the stairs, always peeking through the railing to see what he might be missing

Aw - I'm sorry I missed Boobsy. It's wonderful knowing he's having such a good time though.
DG - I loved the clip you linked to, but I have to admit that I like this one a little better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2zbbN4OL98 (It lets me know that I still have a couple of cells of estrogen still coursing through my veins!)

Mamie - John might be my favorite solo skater, but they are definitely my favorite partnership! I have FOUR of their full-length tapes
And I think that Bolero performance is the greatest routine ever. One of my tapes has a pristine video of the Olympic presentation, but the announcers chose NOT to say a word during the performance - which they should do more often, by the way.

I think I have that same tape, DG. I wonder if they've ever put these on DVD's? I'll have to check.

Mamie - have you seen their "Face the Music: The Tour" video? It has a presentation with their full company of Carmina Burana that I really want Glebby to see.
And I 'think' the Bolero without commentary is on the "Path to Perfection" one.

I have the Path to Perfection tape. I've not seen the the Face the Music one. I just checked and it doesn't look like either were ever released on DVD. They keep talking about VHS tapes/players going out of existence but until they capture timeless performances like this on DVD, the VHS will never die out.

Mamie - that's the MAIN reason I'm in the process of having certain things transferred to DVD - especially things I've taped myself. There's just some things I'm not willing to do without, ya know?!

Sorry - I got busy there for a minute.
yes - I do know. I wish I had the funds to do that, but I'll have to settle for nursing my old VCR along for awhile. Maybe one day I'll have my own DVD burner.....
On a COMPLETELY different topic.....
I went to see the "Bodies" exhibit today. I never thought I would do that - but I had a couple of appointments this morning that happened to be right next to the exhibit. I decided that with everything breaking down in my own body, I'd see if I could stand to take a look at what was going on in there... you know?
ANYWAY - I immediately was aware of the fact that these were not human beings. Once upon a time they were, but no more. That immediately took the 'ick' factor out of it. The technology used to create those exhibits - particularly the circulatory system - was absolutely incredible. All of it left you feeling in awe and respectful of your own and others bodies.
When I first entered I was surprised at the number of young children there were in there. I thought that perhaps the exhibit was too much for a child to handle. By the time I left I realized that it was PERFECT for children. They will also walk away with a new understanding and respect for themselves and others. I guarantee they'll treat their own bodies better than I treated mine!

I was just reading about those car bombs found in Picadilly. Miss P and family are there, are they not? Last year she was returning from France when the airline threat (with liquid bombs) hit the fan.
She's going to have to start staying home!

Oy! I have been thinking of ms p all weekend.
Had fun at the tournament today - pretty even games, lost one by A LOT and won our last game by A LOT. And we are having the most glorious weather.
Off to meet softballers for a cocktail or two - calling it an early evening as we have our first game at 9 am.
Sad I missed boobsie...
