Matt Lauer asks the President of the United States: "The war on terror -- can we win it?"
Bush replies, "I don't think you can win it but I think you can create conditions so that the — those who use terror as a tool are — less acceptable in parts of the world." [AP, 8/30/04]

LOL!! He's a funny guy!!
I've said it before -- somewhere in Texas, a village has lost it's idiot....
Of course he now says we CAN win -- hopefully the Kerry team wil POUNCE all over it -- this is almost as bad as his Meet the Press interview with Tim Russert a few onths back....
we won't start "winning" this until we stop behaving as though we're the only country that matters...we need our friends back! And they HATE GWB...so if we get saddled with him again, it's only going to get worse.
How much have we spent so far on this war we can't win? How many people have lost their lives in countries halfway around the world for it?
if it were only one person, it was far too many lives lost.....
KMF- Too true.
I'm sad we have almost no friends, because we're a selfish, arrogant country.
It is like Vietnam all over again. LOTS of men died, lots of money was spent, and then we said "Let's just bring the boys home." There were protestors and whatnot. It is like we are repeating history.
