Can someone give me a step by step process of getting into a musical theater school please? Everyone in my life has NO idea. My mom isn't even sure if you can apply to college in your junior year of high school. Can someone PLEASE help me out because I'm going to start looking at colleges and I just want to know how the whole process works. Thanks :)

Can, can I have it?

You apply to college at the beginning of your senior year of high school. Start looking at colleges online early in your junior year, and make sure they have the musical theatre program you're looking for. There are tons of threads on here that just LIST MT schools off. Late in your Junior year, you visit colleges and then early in your senior year/ the end of the summer you can go back online to the colleges you liked, and request and audition.

Ok, here's how I recommend you go about this. I'm guessing you're a junior. Find about 6 or 7 schools that you're really interested in, do some research on them, talk to students etc.

I HIGHLY recommend doing Unifieds your SENIOR year. If the colleges you are interested in are all going to be in one city, call those colleges and talk to them about unifieds and schedule appointments. This way, you'll be in one city for all your auditions instead of traveling all over the place.

http://www.unifiedauditions.com/

On that site it gives a list of every college that will be in the major cities auditioning all at once. LA, Chicago, NY, Boston etc.

Find pieces that fit the requirements and that work really well with your voice etc.
You'll have to have a bunch of different pieces ready depending on which colleges you apply to. Some require shakespeare, some don't, some want 1 song, some want 2.

Does your high school NOT have counselors? Aren't they supposed to help you with college applications?

Counselors don't know **** about musical theatre schools. They can help with the general application, but they know mostly about universities and community colleges.

I think its worth asking though, because you were right, dramatothemax, my guidance counselor didn't know anything, but another one in the department had helped a couple people apply for performing arts and stuff, and she's helped my counselor a lot.
