Somms, what did you do to your back?

Morning peeps! You don't realize how much we need electricity until you have none. Luckily mine came back by 9 p.m. They estimated 2 a.m., so I was happy when they got it back earlier.
Happy Birthday, Grandma. She would have been 100 years old today. In honor of her birthday I will buy ham and have it cut tin..of course I won't let Lucy cut it!

Happy Tuesday.
I watched Warren Buffett on 'Charlie Rose' last night. Such a sensible man... Can't he be on the Supercommittee in DC?
I'm searching for a cartoon character that I remember from my childhood. A friend (acquaintance, really) on Facebook has a profile picture that makes me giggle every time I see it, because it reminds me so much of this character! But, I only have a vague recollection of it, so haven't been very successful in finding what I think I remember. It had to do with space and the character had a big forehead... Hmmm...
London sounds wonderful, brd. Have fun!
Moony, glad you escaped from the meetings. Now I'm craving baked goods. (Well, I'm always craving baked goods, but now I need to go buy some!)
Boobs, happy memories of your grandmother today! I will always remember the day of our cruise when we ended up in a wine bar at the Seaport and you regaled us with stories of her! (There have been MANY times you've shared wonderful stories, but that day stands out as a favorite!)
Deet, how's married life?
Tink, how's work and life and the kitten?
Somms, how's your back?
Harris, thanks for the lemonade and cake that you bring...
Girly, YWIW, Q, DD, Shamey and everyone else who may stop by... hope you all have a great day.

Marvin the Martian?
Work is work - annoying and crazy. With the economy the way it is everyone is in a panic, so daily I am getting calls from my vendors to make sure we aren't going under. I ask them if there was a specific reason they thought we were, and they say no they are just checking with everyone. Lovely afternoon chitchat.
Kitty is kitty. She hasn't broken anything in a few days, that I am aware of at least. Since it has been cool and I dont need AC I have locked her out of the bedroom the past few nights. I feel guilty but at least i get sleep without fear. And when she is not psycho, she is adorable.

Marvin the Martian is who I was thinking of Tink. I slept with the windows open last night and it was bliss.
Thanks for checking in Addy! My back is still killing me. It gets better throughout the day and then I seem to be reinjuring it in my sleep and I start all over again with the intense pain each morning. Another day or two and it's off to the doctor.

Oh no, I am not going to London - just friends looking for advice! We have football every weekend for months in the Fall! (Which I love!)
I am having one of those paper work productive days in the office - no hearings and no deps!

HAHA - that's it! The Great Gazoo! That's who she reminds me of. Well, not exactly, but, the general pointy nose and huge forehead in the current profile pic so resemble a cartoon character. (And, the fact that she's completely self-centered just makes it even funnier to me...).
Thanks for helping me remember, everyone!
Somms, that sounds painful! Don't let it go too long without getting some help. Trying to break a muscle spasm hurts. Take care of yourself.
Loved sleeping last night with the windows open and AC off... heaven!
I need to get productive with paperwork in the office, brd. I'm finding myself highly distracted and unmotivated today.
Back to the grindstone I go.

Hey, Addy! Married life is not much different, except there is a certain giddiness about the whole thing that never leaves.
Brd: We saw a delightfully "old-fashioned" new musical in London called BETTY BLUE EYES. It's really quite charming -- based on an Alan Bennett film from the 80s called "A Private Function," and it's just an all-around fun night at the theater. It's also something that isn't likely to transfer here, so it would be a unique London theater experience.
