We're starting our month today by having our HVAC system replaced - which is EXACTLY what you want to be doing in the middle of a financial crisis. Which means that we won't be doing ANYTHING else this month.

Except helping my parents with their final move to SoCal, bringing their care into our realm of concern.

I gave up drinking for this?

I hear ya, Q. The joys of owning a home. I spent my 2 weeks of vacation getting things done around the house I normally wouldn't. This included having the furnice checked. The chimney swept. Dryer vents cleaned and now the landscaper is coming to remove dead tress and replants others. It seems I can't make enough $$$ to keep up with these vultures!
