Our cafeteria here in Jersey is not subsidized like ours in the City, so we pay an arm and leg here for lunch...thanks to damn Chase who shares the building with us. Have I mentioned how much I dislike Chase? Even their employees suck. The other day I was on the down elevator and it stops on a Cahse floor. The woman getting on was holding the door open, so she could finish her conversation. I told her either get on or off! That's rude to hold the door when people are in the elevator and want to go home. She rolled her eyes. I swear the next time I am prying her fingers off the door and pushing her out!!!

Wow - I would have been tempted to remove her hand and let the door close. Of course, she proably would have stuck her foot in the door.

I hate Chase for closing our lunch club! Assholes!
Moonie - that is great!
Our cafeteria has never been subsidized. Sandwich and a drink costs close to $8.

Cafeteria? What's a cafeteria? We have two rickety ass vending machines and a refrigerator that has food in it from 1998.
I usually hide in the corner near the buttons and as the door opens on a Chase floor I keep hitting the close button. Many nights I have a good laugh as the door closes in their faces.
Boobs, I love you.
I worked on the Chase account years ago, and they were the dumbest, nastiest people. We had clients there who made million dollar marketing decisions based on personal color preferences. I'm not kidding.
My favorite client request of all, though, was a holiday offer they were promoting: apply for one of their credit cards and receive a "Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer" DVD. (Some crappy animated movie, not the classic T.V. special) We were told to use a screen shot of the village square with a huge Christmas Tree in the center. BUT, so as to not offend anyone who didn't celebrate Christmas, we had to have all the ornaments, including the star at the top of the tree, photoshopped out of the shot.
I don't miss those days. At. All.
Although I do miss my boss. He passed away over the weekend. J2 and I paid a shiva call last night.
Oh, and his reaction to the above: "Jesus Christ! What a bunch of morons." Then again, Alan was a Jew who got a huge kick out of being Santa Claus every year at his wife's elementary school. LOVED HIM!
That sucks, Somms. I try to bring lunch as much as possible, but if I don't put it together the night before, it's not getting done.
BD, you a bad boy!

Deet, he sounds like he was a lovely man. I'm sure he will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
Is it Friday yet? You know when it comes to that point of your day at work that you're not going to be productive anymore? I'm there!

I need food. I'm glued to my desk... (speaking of clients!)
Sharp-shooters all around. Security swept the floor just a few minutes ago because someone, apparently, opened their window.
Thick crowds in the area!
And my loser 'boss' is 'working from home today' because said 'boss' doesn't feel 'comfortable' being here. FCUK said boss.
Other than that, Yay for Ms. Shamey! Happy thoughts!

Doesn't feel comfortable there?!? With the president in town he's worried about HIS safety?
I'd send you some food, Addy, but I ate the whole damn thing. Three platefuls. And dessert.
This person is such a joke and waste of time. Fortunately, not the *real* boss who I actually interact with on a daily basis. But, someone who, on paper, is a level ahead of me, and likes to remind me (and everyone else) of that on a regular basis.
If I ever walk out, this person will be the reason.
I just had a bag of Munchos. Processed food at its worst. Yuck. (I didn't purchase them - they were in a basket of left-over lunch items in the kitchen. Remind me to eat paper towels instead, next time!)
Your feast sounds ever so much better! Yum!
Anybody have any fun Cinco de Mayo plans? I was supposed to have a GNO with margs and guac, but... work derailed that plan. Bummer! I'll live vicariously through all of you! CHEERS!

HILARIOUS!
I have been eating almost all natural foods since 1/3/11 and have cut our ALL soda including my beloved Diet Coke. *sighs*
Caffeine and alcohol are my two vices.
Morning, all!! I have been feeling quite ambivalent all week. Just can't shake it.
Morning.
No hangover, yay!
Same here Tink. I went a bit heavy on the tequila in the margarita's.
Dottie, what's got ya troubled?
I helped a friend finish one margarita but that was all the tequila for me. I stuck with beer.
SOMMS, I literally have no idea! Quite perplexing. Thanks for asking. Now off to bike to work. I just joined Capital Bike Share in DC, but I end up having to leave earlier than normal just to get a bike.
Mornin'
No Cinco de Mayo celebrations last night for us, although I did smile as we passed a Mexican restaurant filled with people desperately having fun. Does that count?
Morning.
Ornery today.
