Can the Adults Please Smoke? Chapter 34: Good Times Galore!

Happy Morning of Tony Eve to all.
I have snippets from Book of Mormon in my head all the time. When I muttered "I have maggots in my scrotum" the other day, I got an odd look from some co-workers! How I wish I could see the show in any form ...
Have a great weekend!

"How I wish I could see the show in any form"
New York has three major airports, YWiW, as does L.A.
Just sayin'
We saw A MINISTER'S WIFE last night. Moments of ravishing beauty, but on the whole, kind of "meh."

Yes, I am full aware ...
I think I may be coming out for something next spring, but am not certain of anything before that ...

Mornin'
Well that was fun, if a bit anti-climactic.

Morning peeps!
The number they did last night from "Catch Me If You Can" really leaves me with no desire to see the show...on the other hand "Sister Act" has sparked my interest again.
I'm thrilled for "The Book of Mormon" being I am a big fan of the show.

I'm more of a fan of the cute boy that was singing for Book of Mormon, lol. :)
I was so underwhelmed with the whole production. Not seeing the show yet, the CMiYC performance was clunky, but messing with Norbie be fighting words with me! lol

You're a trifle biased, Boobs...
After the number from SISTER ACT, J2 said "Please tell me we don't have to see that."
I'm going to use that as leverage the next time he drags me to one of those operas/concerts that are 3 hours of incessant buzzing with an occasional clang.

Biased or not, that number was a mess. I usually like him, but I've noticed in the last few shows I've seen him in, Enron, Is He Dead and Fifty Words, he's always playing the same ole, same ole. People here today have been asking me what the heck that was all about.

Good Morning. I got the Amazon 1.99 email and now love Mormon.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Tony Awards while switching to the Heat getting beat!
Brief due at 5! Back to work!

I'm assuming Moony is still recovering from the festivities. She texted me when she got there, but I haven't heard from her since.

I'm sure she'll hop on once she gets home. I hope.
I have to synch up the pod with the new stuff I uploaded yesterday. Tanks, BD!!
BD made the bestest dinner yesterday. My top two veggies, included! So looking forward to leftovers tonight!

I loved that CATCH ME IF YOU CAN number when I saw it in the context of the show, but I have to admit I don't think it was the strongest choice of number to include. I think they probably knew Butz was their best chance for a win, so they showcased him.
I also don't think PRISCILLA was especially well represented last night either. Again, out of context, and with the Divas grounded, the fun really didn't come across.
Truthfully, the only number that I think worked was SISTER ACT. Actually made me consider seeing it. Alone, of course. Unless J2 really, really, really pisses me off.

All I really registered in the Priscilla performance was MARTHA WASH! My old gay disco days came flooding back, and it was a beautiful thing
The show really entertained us, with some real highlights. Vanessa Redgrave took my breath away, literally. As she talked wistfully about how theater binds us, I couldn't help but think about all that's happened over the last couple of years. She truly came across to me like she had 'transcended', for lack of a better term. And the sight of her and James holding hands while being honored by a standing O was my night's highlight.
And I seriously want to adopt Daniel Radcliffe. Seriously. I am so besotted with that young man, and want every good thing imaginable for him.

I agree, Deet. I was very disappointed in what they did to Priscilla. It was more about Paul Schaffer and Martha Wash than the show. I guess they figured it wasn't nominated for a Tony for Best Musical, so we can do what we want with it. Although they did let "Memphis" do their thing. Politics I tell you!
What was up with John Larroquette walking very fast away from Brooke Shields? She was trying to grab him, but he acted like she wasn't even there. Perhaps he was insulted bu her cursing before she presentted him with the award? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Hello, Adults!!
A very special person hinted that a Jungle cameo appearance was requested - so voila! I hope that all is well with everyone. It sure is hot here in Hotlanta - feels a bit like August, already.
The Tony's were fun - gotta love NPH - what a great host! Did you like my vintage jean jacket from 1983 that I loaned to Frances McDormand for the show? I think she pulled off quite a fetching look, don't you?
Jungliciously yours, Yall

Hey, Jungle
I guess I'm in the EXTREME minority, but I thought Frances was awesome! I loved everything about her.

Well, hello Q! Hope that all is well with you and Tinman!
I also offered Frances the option of wearing my vintage Member's Only jacket, but I think that she really rocked the denim.

We are just ducky, thanks
There were enough people putting on a nice presentation with all propriety intact - and it was appreciated and admired (there really were some lovely sights!) But, that's why I didn't mind a bit of the kookiness here and there - they ARE actors, after all. Brooke, Whoopie, and Frances were just 'off bubble' enough for me to really smile and enjoy the quirkiness.

Jungle!!!! *hugs* Always good to see you my friend. How is life? Any concert updates? When is your next trip to NYC?
I loved Frances too, Q. I would have like to see her without the jean jacket, but that's her and I accept people for who they are.
