Well, all the D.C. area airports were going to close down for lack of traffic, but we'll keep them open just for you. Think about it and get back to us.
not a single soul in the whole city
Oh, I get it, DD. It's okay for ME to do the 5hour/3time zone/limited time thing?

Match point. Your serve, DD.
I have always avoided NYC on New Year's Eve! Tell me what to do, guys! (As long it has nothing to do with Times Square!)
I never go below 72nd Street on New Year's Eve.
Okay, D2, so what do you do?
But of course, deet.
There's also that pesky 2 1/2 week vacation to the tropics getting in the way of available time off from work.
Ms P - last year I went to Robbie's cabaret, and then hung out in the Village and it was so much fun! Of course, getting back to the Times Sq. area (where I was staying) was a challenge.
As little as possible, Miss P. Actually, this year we're heading north, to a friend's house party in Riverdale.
I was thinking of staying in my hotel room with the door bolted shut!
As long as you have a good stock of Tattinger, that can be fun too.
I may go to a friend's apartment party with is over by 35th & 8th. Chris isn't completely sold on the idea though.
I'm with D2. I want to avoid anything too close to Times Square!
That's not too bad, Tink - you'd be far enough south to avoid most of the crowds.
Miss P, are you staying in the Times Square area?
West 57th.
We are invited to a friend's party ... I'm glad to see them, but they live way south, which means driving back at 1 am with all the drunks on the road, and I don't get to drink.

All of you reside in NYC? How Lucky.
Ooh, Miss P, you'll be close to the fireworks in Central Park. That's always lovely!
Nothing tops New Year's in Canton, Ohio!
I mean, the way we all .... uh .... stare at each other ... is thrilling. And there are huge events like .... uhhh ... I think the bars are open.
Why, oh why, oh why oh, why don't you just leave Ohio and come to New York?
Well ... at least in Seattle we have the only countdown "object" that goes UP ... the elevators at the Space Needle.
Yes, I was thinking about the fireworks, Deet! Too bad Artisanal is so far away!
Are you going there on New Year's Eve? I'm jealous.
Maybe I should! Who knows if it is even possible though. They may be totally booked!

We have fireworks in the lovely Inner Harbor, but it gets entirely to crowded.
