Ciao Girly!
I get to leave early to prepare for the "We Booked the Holiday Party that we Booked to Late so We're Having it in January."
Nice, DD. Have fun!!
D2 - I read so much during the school year. I'm giving my brain a rest!
Nice try, Shira. Not buying it, though.
*sigh* What's with you trying to make me smarter?
you promoted him to god father
Um..oh yeah. Well, he's worth it. Even if he's a book pusher.
Flattery will get you nowhere, and don't even try batting those eyes. READ, darling, READ!
Read ALICE IN WONDERLAND. It's an easy read.
Deet is right. Keep those brain cells aflutter, Shira, dear. A nice book is the best way to do that.
At least I got her to go out into nature.
Well ... it was a garden in the city, but still ...
We have some lovely city parks and gardens. She could visit ours, too.
Shira, you never have to worry about me forcing nature on you, at least. I like my nature in picture books. BOOKS! Get it?
I don't own Alice in Wonderland. Am I off the hook?
I found a Jodi Picoult book in my arsenal, I think I'll start on that.
No.
:-P
Nice try, though. Gotta give you credit for that.
Library? I'm sure you've heard of them - they're not just for studying. They have all sorts of books they lend you. For reading. Try and get THE ANNOTATED ALICE - brilliantly notated throughout.
How is The Annotated Alice different from Alice in Wonderland?
I repeat: it is brilliantly notated throughout - it explains topical references that might not mean anything today, it goes into depth about Charles Dodgson and his, uhm, personality quirks, it explains some of the illogical twist the story takes quite logically - in other words, it makes a fascinating read that much more satisfying.
Okay. I can work with that.
I finished my new John Grisham last night, but am having problems getting through The Screwtape Letters, and I don't know why. It's interesting, but it feels like work to read it. So I need to figure out what in my stack is next. Two more books and I get to start ordering new ones, yay!
Good neighbours, good neighbours, remember our policy...
Oops, sorry. I'm just singing along to Deet's sig. As you can see, I'm not wide awake, yet.
*alison janny brings juice to hep and snapper*
I don't think I've finished any book over sixth grade level since graduation. I've been trying to get into Jane Austen forever.
Cool juice is extremely welcome. Thank you.
where is everybody tonight?
