I woke to an email from the new boss that started off, "Hey Amber, I know you haven't started yet, but the deadline for calender submissions is next week, so could you..." Fun stuff when you don't yet really know what you're doing. I love flying by the seat of my pants.

I have decided that I've had enough. I've actually had enough for quite some time, but am now actually going to act upon my feelings. I'm flying HOME tomorrow.

The answer to the unasked question is, "No, things are not good - but I've decided I just have to walk away. I'll leave them to their delusional life, and carry on with mine."

Am I happy about this? No - but not unhappy, either. Just basically resigned to the situation - and maybe a little sad. Would I prefer to have a different reaction and relationship with my family? Of course - but not at the expense of my own existence. I've prioritized my life, and they have slipped way down the list. I'll consider it our mutual loss, and call it a day.

SO, I'll be back in SoCal tomorrow - in my own home, in the reality I choose - with the man and people in my life that are about the PRESENT and possibilities, not stuck in the dysfunction of the past.

And for those interested, YES, there is scotch being consumed.

In quantity.
