I live in a duplex, and the people on the other side just knocked on my door. Seems their CO detector has been sporadically going off the past week. They just had someone from the gas company over. He was getting readings of over 250 on their side, so he wanted to come over to check my levels. Mine were under 5. They had to open the windows and shut the heat off to get the levels down in order to stay there tonight. They called the landlord who had the nerve to say he was at dinner, he's not doing anything about it tonight, and those levels won't kill you. He'll send someone out tomorrow. What a (fill in the blank).

Think I'll open a couple windows tonight.

She said that she's been feeling a little dizzy for a couple days, and the teenage son had what they thought was a stomach virus the other day, but now maybe it wasn't.

My detector is only about a year or so old, and I just recently put a new battery in it. I always keep the window closer to the bed open a little, since it gets so stuffy up there. I'll open up the one at the other end of the room and the bathroom one, too.

What surprises me, is the landlord's reaction. Mark is always very good when there's a problem. I'd think with something of this magnitude he'd be a bit more concerned. Especially when you read the horror stories in the paper. His attitude has kind of shocked me.

Shira, can't go visiting without you there! If I'd had to leave, I would've crashed at my cousin's. She's only a hop, skip and jump away.

I'm sure it's fine here. If it wasn't the gas man would've made me shut my heat off and open my windows, too in order to stay. Or he would've been calling the fire department and cops to evict me for the night. That's what the neighbor told me he had said to them.
