Tink - I'm about to start on Chantix (a 'stop smoking' aid,) and one of the pronounced side-effects is apparently increased and accentuated dream states. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to that, as I'm already a pretty heavy dreamer as it is!

Tink - yes, it's a pill - but unlike other stop-smoking aids. Usually, they're anti-depressants, that simply have the side-effect of helping you quit (most common is Wellbutrin.) Chantix is specifically for smoking, and actually inhibits the brain receptors that respond to (and look for, in addicts) nicotene. They're showing a 50% success rate in short-term testing (it's too new to have long-term results,) which is unimaginably high in these circumstances.

I have a little knowledge in this area just because when I started working for my former company, I started in their Lose Weight/Stop Smoking by Hypnosis company (big deals in 2003ish time frame). So I learned a lot about the body and it's responses, as well as some stop smoking aids we offered. Of course, yes, I continued to smoke throughout my time with them, lol, but I never went to any of the SS classes. We did have one product that was a SS pill and had some success rates. Essentially all it did was made it so if you smoked, it made you vomit, hence training your brain into not smoking. not exactly my method, but a lot of people did have success with it.

Tink - I think I'll stick with trying the Chantix My mother and brother have both had success with it, so I'm hoping I'm genetically geared for it!

I'm off. We're having a brief break in the storms, so I want to get all my running around done while it's not raining. A great side-effect of the weather - the air is clear, and there's lots of snow on the mountains. Quite breath-taking in the sunlight (which is nice to have, in-and-of itself!)
