I honestly can't tell you what happened that night. But from what I've been told, there was no swinging, just falling down.

Theater should be run by a benign dictator - it's the one place where democracy doesn't quite work.
And your board should realize that it's primary function is to help the company realize the vision of its leader, and work accordingly to help meet the goals, both financial and artistic.
