Lightning is scary. I have been out once in a boat during a storm and I would not want to do that again. Thank goodness you were safe! Your time off sounds like it has been fun just doing things that are fun. That's what I am going to do for the rest of my summer off from work. I also need get some house cleaning projects done.

I got an email from Miss P yesterday. They're doing fine but they have next to no Internet capabilities there. She attached a few photos but didn't have much news then. She promised me a longer, wordier note later on today. I'll let you know.

Goodmorning adults - Thanks for all the well wishes. I was just looking at all the pictures from yesterday. Can't wait until I get to play with the baby. We haven't had a baby in the family for 8 years. I still have 3 children that aren't married yet so I don't think I'm done.

Mamie, thanks for the update. Glad to hear she's having a great time. (How can you not!) I hope to see her in August when they visit Michigan.

I was telling the arts critic here about how hypnotized I was by Sweeney and she told me she loved it too. Then she asked me if I know who Rita F.... is. I said "Yes, the dance critic in S.F." and the critic here told me that Rita F. is Mano's mom!

Don't know if this Amelia was part of the inspiration, but Ms. Earhart is certainly worth remembering and celebrating. A true pioneer and heroine - and to my mind, a classic beauty.
