I definitively have someone watching over me.
We have snow covered, icy, steep streets. I figured I would take the 'bus route' to work, because it would be well worn. Well, the "bus" street by my house was blocked because of a jack-knifed articulated bus. SO I took the next busiest street. Now, keep in mind, the street I'm going down is pretty steep, and it ends on a street that goes "along" (flat) the hill. As I start down the last block, I suddenly realize the street is a sheet of ice. My light is red - which means, yes, the cross traffic has the right of way. And I can't stop the car. I hear the anti-lock brakes working, but I am just sliding down the hill. I can't see oncoming traffic... until the reach the street and there's a car coming right at me. When my car finally stops, the car swerves... and misses me by literally an inch. I could feel my car move just from having the other car so close. He didn't hit me.
The rest of the trip was uneventful.
Now I faint.
