YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU! YOU!
WHAT! WHAT! WHAT! WHAT! WHAT! I mean WHAT?
Hey Girls!!
YWIW, do you really think I'm a big wimp?
Wimp? Not the first word that comes to mind there, Miss P.
Shira survived the bus!!!
I saw your avie on TV tonight and thought of you.
Isn't he cute??
Hi JG.
Honestly, the buses were not even anywhere NEARLY as painful as I expected them to me. I crashed for part of the first 2 legs, and then kept occupied the third leg. I'll do it again
No one smelled, the bathroom was disgusting, so I obviously didn't use it. Aside form that all was good!
No, I don't think you are a big wimp (I don't think I said that though).
I do think that you should have pushed for something you could have used, rather than something that benefited the company.
I would write a letter to the corporate offices on company letterhead (if your company says OK) to express your frustration.
*looks around*
*confused*
*enters bar*
Mamie-i'm not sure yet, somewhere around alexandria,
Miss P had an ant infestation at her hotel room, and asked advice on what to do... Some were ready to put me on retainer and demand compensation for her ant bites and mental distress.
She settled for one night comped, which does her not good since it was a business trip. I would have try to get something she could use outside of work!
*pours Shira a shot and puts the bottle away*
Harris, I end up visiting the Alexandria area every year or so. (I was just there last month).
Perhaps I can get back there again and do a Harris/Miss P night! (but it is a challenge with conferences).
It is a lovely town. Congrats again.
I say SUE!!!
Okay, enough of this, "I will try to have a Harris/Miss P night" crap! The next time you are going to be here, add on an extra day (since you never use your vacation time!!!) or two, and stay with me. For a brainiac, you can be awfully slow on the uptake! Geez!
Harris, you better arrange a rendezvous with yours truly soon after you arrive.
So the hotel had "problems"...but look at the view from my room:
Hey, is that Brad Pitt?
Is that "yeesh" directed at me, young lady?
If the yeesh fits...
I will try next time I am in the area.
But, I am glad you are home safe, and the ants are well behind you.
I'm totally kidding! (Not about the offer to stay here. That's serious.)
We do what we can, you know? I HATE when peopl--especially those who are supposed to be my friends--put pressure on me. Friends are supposed to do the exact opposite!
So the offer is out there. Just remember that. But don't worry about it. I know how work travel is, believe me!!!

I'm the one who said 'wimp'.
Not 'big wimp', mind you, just 'wimp'.
And it was SIMPLY an attempt at humor referencing one of MissP's own statements.
She is NO wimp. By any stretch.
I am.
No worries at all. I hope I am in the DC area again, and if I am, I will make a point to see you. I have two very good friends (one from college, and the other for the past 15 years) who live in the DC area, so whenever I am in town, it is one big shuttle fest before the conference begins.
And, it is funny, those who do not travel for work think it is exciting and glamorous. Those that do realize that the glamor wears off after the first couple of trips.
I did live spending weeks at a time in Boston though - that was a city I enjoyed (except for the NorEaster I got caught in!).
Sleep well tonight Miss P.

Addy - two frowny faces in one week from you is . . . not acceptable.
It's been a rough week...
I can't sleep, so, rather than tossing and turning, thought I'd pop in to see if anyone else was up. A quick late night 'hello', and a word or two of kindness is quite welcome!
