Hep - since I live in a quasi-desert region, I'm familiar with those temps (opposite of you, of course!) I actually like the heat. I used to live in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I was usually aok with temps up to 110. After that, I had to be 'aware' up to 115. Above that, I just stopped and waited for cooler temps
My brother will be ok - he has viability and connections. But he is having a hard time dealing with those around him who are struggling - up to and including losing their houses.
Yep. It is really tough right now. There have been some cuts in my company, but none were surprising. It still does not help those involved.
Most of us are just having any raises suspended until things improve - which is fine, especially if it can help preserve a few co-workers jobs.
I hope you see you and the TinMan's handsome face soon. Off to bed for me now. Another long day of corporate battle tomorrow.
Don't forget the sword and shield, YWIW.
Q, we are used to the heat each Summer, too. I just thought some of those East Coasters may be turning blue and could do with some warmth.
Good morning all!
For all of my Northeast peeps, travel safely. It's a mess out there.
The boss gave me orders Monday morning to work from home if the snow came, so...
Be safe all!

Hey y'all. So, what does it take to get a snow day around here? In Tennessee, we would have been out for 2 days over this.
Pray for a Northeaster or get a job at a school!! I love how they send out school closings before anything even starts these days! We used to have to listen to the radio in the morning to see if we were closed. Ya know. Back when you had to walk uphill to and from school.

I used to have the school closing number memorized!

The county calls me when they're closing school or having a delay. They called me at 4:15 this morning. I really think they could have made that decision last night when all the Virginia school systems made their announcment.
It took me 40 minutes to chisel and chop the ice off my car this morning, but major roads are pretty good now, so I'm glad I delayed coming in.
Now to warm up....
*passes a piping cup of coffee to my cuz*
Mornings like these are why the #1 item on my house buying list was a big attached garage. I was at work in my usual 8 minutes.

Brrrrr.
I heart tennis. I can't believe Djokovic quit. His attitude is getting annoying.

Cuz - I said to my husband (who was also chipping the ice off his car), "We are SO getting a garage for our retirement home!"
Ooh, great idea. Where am I visiting you in your retirement, Moony?
Upper West Side -- the penthouse unit with the attached two car garage.
Fantastic. I'm looking to move as well.

SOMMS honey, WHEN I get my UWS place. I won't need a car! I can, however, fix up that 2 car garage for you as your 'city digs'.
Mornin' Kids!
What is this "snow" you speak of? Sounds like a real drag to me. :-P

It's covered with an inch of ice today. I'll pack some up for you and send it out today.

It doesn't look too bad out there. But of course, I'm inside and warm. I'll likely be cursing when I leave.

We use the internest for school closings. C10 gets up early and runs to the computer. We have snow today, but only 1". Crazy winter here.
Happy Humping Day!

Thanks, Q. Um, there is more, right? I will definitely need more.
Okay, I'm off. Lots of little things to do today.

We use the internet, too, but I get a call because I have to get up and call into the local media stations and put a message up on our website and on the switchboard answering service.
Moony, you're so important. I love it.
Okay, time to go live the day and hit the gym so I can EAT all that chocolate.
