I wish they'd ban it here. During work hours.
I get it that people want snacks when we're working late... but during the day? Yuck.
Oh, well, enough complaining for me. I've used up my quota!
WE NEED TO HAVE A PARTY!
Girly, do you need a blankie?

You know what's worse? Our girls keep buring popcorn in the cafeteria microwave. The rancid odor fills the hallways. This is what happens when schools don't teach Home Ec anymore.
Those were the days...
I never wanted to take a nap when I was little, and I remember my mom always telling me that SOME DAY I would want to, and would look back and wonder why I didn't enjoy nap time as a child.
SOME DAY is here.
Yes, please, hep. And a pillow! Tanks!
Addy! They look so cozy!

Home Ec. I loved that....
How gorgeous, Addy. Just love the cutie with the bottom in the air. Apparently, I slept that way as a toddler. *
Here you are, Girly. I'll turn off the light and tiptoe out.

I never took Home Ec in high school - too many drama clases were available and I took all of them as my electives. I did take it in Jr High. I was a disaster at sewing, but aced cooking. Even then I was a foodie.
I took it in Jr. High, also.
I loved the cooking more than the sewing, but am glad I have sewing skills. I've saved a fortune over the years in home decorating expenses.

That's why God gave me a sister.
Q - when I was in high school there was a Home Ec course called "Batchelor Living". It was very popular - a waiting list to get in.
I took Home Ec, but actually enjoyed shop more. For some reason, I have always been better with the logical - setting things up, fixing things...
Popcorn is OK, when when it burns, someone needs to be shot.
EDIT - more info than need be posted.

I never learned to sew. To this day I don't know my bias binding from my bobbin.
I can do a hem and a button. Much more than that, and I am in trouble.

We had a fair number of restrictions in place, even though it was a public high school (a very large one, in fact.)
Another one of my favorites was in gym class - during the semester that girls did gymnastics, the boys had to do wrestling, because gymnastics was too 'gay' (they actually said that.) And, of course, there's nothing 'gay' about having boys roll on the floor together in their underwear . . .
This is also the school system that unanymously voted not to put pools in their schools, so as to avoid the issue of racially integrated swimming - in the early 1970's!
Just curious.
Have they already repealed DADT?
Don't Stop!

Microwave popcorn is an environtmental hazard and should be banned.
I took HomeEc in 8th grade in Kansas. We sewed, cooked, etc. Pretty progressive for a hick town. The girls also took Shop which included carpentry and even welding.

I would have loved to have taken shop class. Set construction was as close as I came to carpentry.
I have a hard time keeping myself safe from knifes. I can't imagine what kind of bodily harm I'd do to myself with power tools.

I took Home Ec in 6th grade. It was, as I'm sure y'all already have figured out, a disaster.
They wouldn't even let me take shop. Or chemistry.

Well it's a good thing you took Advanced Quantum Physics. There's something for everyone.
