Quick 'hello' to let you all know we arrived safely. Rather uneventful trip, except for sitting in the plane for an hour in Detroit waiting to leave. Apparently, they didn't have enough employees to load all the cargo! And then we had to wait for the de-icing.

You know, it's kind of interesting how much we trust other humans to do things that take care of our lives.

Have a very Merry Christmas (or whatever)! We'll be living our little 'white wonderland' fantasy - and dreaming of sitting back by the pool

Obviously, I have the luxury of knowing I will get to leave in a couple of weeks, so my view is tainted - but I think it's just SO beautiful! Their property backs up to ACRES of untouched forest, which is evenly sprinkled with pines and hardwoods, so it truly looks like a postcard out of every window. I can't wait to go exploring!

Fortunately, there are many fireplaces, so the TinMan has many spots to settle into - and from which to grumble and mutter about 'the frozen wasteland'

Q- I love your take on the life that surrounds you! Glad you reached the winter wonderland safely.

Cooking and wrapping here this morning, then we'll head downtown to the new Museum of American History and view the Capitol and ellipse Christmas trees. A fun day, even if it's cold and gray. It's the people in your life that give you warmth and light. Even cows in Santa suits...
