We had a brownie troop at my catholic school. But there wasn't enough interest to host a girl scout troop. They had one at the public school in the same town (which I also lived in), so we tried to enroll there. They told my dad he would have to pay for me enroll (something like $500). Meanwhile it was the same girls and parents that were at our school each week for all CCD/Communion/Confirmation/etc, classes. Absurd.

The Girl Scouts weren't wild about those of us from the local Catholic school joining, either. What, did they think we had cooties or something? My mom got kinda pushy about the whole thing and three of us were allowed to join.
