Morning all.
The Verdict is in, I have the flu and I feel terrible, but I must still go to work as they have no one to watch him. So I have loaded up on Advil and I am driking tea as we speak, if anyone else has any ideas for me, PLEASE send them my way.
Thanks

Maybe, I will call and see what they say, I just don't want to let them down, they have no one else to care for him.
Thanks for all the kind words guys, I need them today.

Posted: 12/14/04 at 9:38amThanks Undi, your right, and I guess cause he had the flu shot I wasn't so worried and I really can't afford to not work. I am going to go and take my temp and go from there.

We will think good thoughts for you LA.
Tomorrow the FCC is set to vote on rules that might allow unrestricted mobile phone use in airplanes during flight. I am sort of divided on this - on one hand it would be good if you had to do business but on the other hand I'm not ready for people blabbing while flying across country. I fear they will have to institute a 'quiet section' like they do on Amtrak.

And my temp is: 101 Ok, I will call in. Damn I hate being sick

BT -- the thought of flying across the country listening to cell call is most appalling to me...when you have to decide what is better to be "next" to -- the cell phone guy or the 3 year old...UGH!
If this passes, the one bit of good news is that it will take a little time for the planes to add the technology....

BT - I know where I sit on that issue.
I am firmly in the NO category. Business be damned for a few hours (and this coming from someone who tries to squeeze in every available moment to get work done). The commotion it would cause with people blabbing away would be unbearable.
First Class, Non-Talking, please!

LA..sending lots of hugs your way today...hopefully they'll make you feel better. Today I hear a Spoonful of Sugar will help the medicine go down.

Posted: 12/14/04 at 9:51amI just sent an email to my preferred airline voicing my opinion on this issue and that regardless of what happens, I hope they elect to keep thier planes "quiet"....

Posted: 12/14/04 at 9:52amI find the cell-phone possibility perfectly appalling! But, then again, if it were up to me they would have severely limited use anyway. I can't tell you how enraged I get standing in line behind someone who is talking away on their phone while they're being served by a cashier - I simply want to shove it somewhere - with force.

I barely knew how to work my cell phone until I met Undi! LOL!
K - good idea. I am having Anna send messages to all the airlines I have accounts with to register my opinion. And American Express. And the FCC.

I know what you mean DG -- I found myself answering the phone the other day as I walked into a store and said, "I have to call you back -- I don't want to become one of those people I hate"
The phones on a flight would be total bedlam... heck, the airlines can barely "manage" on the carry-on bag rule.... does anyone EVER use the space under the seat in front of you....

First of all, I called in to work and they were so kind to me and said stay home and that she would bring be anything I might need. So thank you all for the encouragement.
And as far as this cell thing goes, NO WAY! I would be miserable if people could chat away while on the plane. Yuck, I don't like the idea at all.

Good for you, LA - and I'm not surprised they were so understanding. NOW, you simply must get well before Monday!

Well the FCC will vote on Thursday regarding the matter and then they may auction off the spectrum. It would be some time before it could be used, but still...
I agree that it will be amazingly annoying. My favorite plane activity is sleeping, followed closely by readying trashy tabloid magazines -- like TV Guide
. I wouldn't want to hear the conversations of my seat mates. You tend to learn too much about a person from their cell phone calls!
