I think Carl Magnum should be "Chick Magnet". Then he can just go stand near the iceberg, and they will all be pulled from peril, perhaps?

DG I am so thrilled that Berke Breathehead is doing an Opus comic strip again. I totally heart his characters. I have two stuffed Opuses (Opi?) and many of the collection books of Bloom County. Truly inspired stuff with incredible artwork. How "real" his characters are--and OPUS is the penguin of my dreams.

DG - if it helps our cause then I am honored!

We have some very clever wordsmiths here today...

Beacon - I have all the books, and many incarnations of my hero. When my beautiful Robert has to go away, I send one of the stuffed Opus to keep him company.

Have you seen the new Opus Christmas book "A Wish For Wings That Work"?

Ok so I guess I'm Carl Magnum P.I. "The Chick Magnet"? Sounds good. I'll wear the Hawaian shirt, but I'll skip the porn stash.

Carl...don't forget the Ferrari...

LA: the one word thread--LOL!

When do we leave for the iceberg. Will there be an inflight movie?

Our next mission has to be to save poor ALW. Apparently he's down to his last half billion. The suffering we are hearing about... tsk...

Yes, the poor man... he's cut his spending incredibly... only $300,000 for a sketch, instead of $36 million for a Picasso.

Maybe he can make some scratch composing the theme song.

CKeaton...you are brilliant

Addy, go to your roladex and pull out ALW's private number and ask him to compose our Super Heroes theme...

Maybe we can just get Dick Van Dyke (what a name if you think about it), to just dance the penquins to safety.

Once again, I have wasted FAR too much time here - but it sure has been fun re: Can the adults please smoke? (Pt.2)

I'll be anxiously monitoring the news for word of the rescue.

If we're going to take on the world, this song could work:

We're an all time high
we'll change all that's gone before.
Doing so much more than falling in love.
On an all time high
well take on the world and wait.
So hold on tight
let the flight begin.
I don't want to waste a waking moment
I don't want to sleep.
I'm in so strong and so deep
and so are you.
In my time I've said these words before
but now I realize
My heart was telling me lies
for you they're true.
We're an all time high
we'll change all that's gone before. . . .
So hold on tight
let the flight begin. We're an all time high.

or do we want something more upbeat?

We're gonna do it!
Give us any chance we'll take it,
Read us any rule, we'll break it.
We're gonna make our dreams come true.
Doin' it our way!
Nothing's gonna turn us back now,
Straight ahead and on the track now.
We're gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin' it our way!
There's nothing we won't try,
Never heard the word "impossible."
This time there's no stopping us,
We're gonna do it!
On your mark, get set, and go now,
Gotta dream and we just know now.
We're gonna make that dream come true.
And we'll do it our way, yes, our way,
Make all our dreams come true.
And we'll do it our way, yes, our way,
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you.

Perfect theme song...

Step in time, step in time
Come on, mateys, step in time
Step in time
Step in time, step in time
Step in time, step in time
Never need a reason,
Never need a rhyme
Step in time, you step in time!

Kick your knees up!
Kick your knees up, step in time
Kick your knees up, step in time
Never need a reason,
Never need a rhyme
Kick your knees up, step in time

Flap like a birdie!
Flap like a birdie, step in time
Flap like a birdie, step in time
Never need a reason,
Never need a rhyme
Flap like a birdie, step in time

Link your elbows!
Link your elbows, step in time
Link your elbows, step in time
Link your elbows
Link your elbows
Link your elbows!

Step in time, step in time
Step in time, step in time
Never need a reason,
Never need a rhyme
Step in time, you step in time!
