Speaking of nuts... what's up with Bush being Time Magazine's person of the year?

True, K, and I have yet to read the article, but the blurb I read talked about quoted Bush as saying:
"I think the natural instinct for most people in the political world is that they want people to like them," Bush said. "On the other hand, I think sometimes I take kind of a delight in who the critics are."

I understand it if he had said something about wanting to be someone who was willing to take a stand for what he thinks is right even if it is unpopular, but "take kind of a delight in who the critics are" is the kind of phrase that makes me fearful that this man is in power.

re: Can the adults please smoke? (Pt.2)

Hi everyone.

Had a wonderful weekend... although it started with me locking my keys in my car - with it running. Then, I missed a turn which resulted in a long detour (on a trip I could make in my sleep because I drive it so often), and then I spilled hot coffee all over mysef. They say bad things come in threes.

But - all ended well as I arrived just a little later than planned and didn't dwell on the mishaps.

The rest of the weekend was picture perfect. Loved every minute.

...except the frozen lock on the car this morning.

Now I'm home and just popping in for a minute...have an appointment and a long list of errands.

Hope you all had great weekends!

Addy: I must tell you I have one up on you, when Jess was about 2 I locked my keys in the car with it running and Jess in her carseat! The fire fighters had to come, I felt so silly and Jess thought is was the funniest thing ever!

And how was your niece at the church performance? Wonderful I am sure :)

Matt...you cannot be referring to me...LOL!

LA, the only good thing about the car keys is that for some reason I stuck my apartment keys in my pocket - not my purse (which was locked in the car) - and I had grabbed the spare set of car keys the last time I was in CT (I usually keep them there) by accident. SO, I had the ability to get into my apartment to get the spare key. There really wasn't a problem. But for a moment my heart sank as I looked at the keys dangling in the ignition and wondered how in the hell I was going to get into the car. I was suddenly so glad I had made the mistake of grabbing the second set of keys last week!

All's well that ends well, right?!

Oh, and the performance was lovely! Thanks for asking.

Addy: There was definitly a reason you grabbed those keys! And I know how that feels to look at those keys and say to yourself "WTF did I do?" But yes all is well and good and that is what matters :) Now I understand why my stepdad doesn't have ALL of his keys on one keychain like I do.

re: Can the adults please smoke? (Pt.2)

very happy coincidences.

And, I have never kept all my keys on one keychain. Lesson learned long ago.

By the time I spilled coffee all over myself on Saturday morning it was all just a big laugh. I actually thought to myself that it was a good thing you guys weren't there to see me!!
