Good news Marquise, but don't stay away from this party too much. Deal?
so ive made it my business to display as many Ann-Margret avatars as is humanly possible for this month...LOL
We identify you with Ann-Marget too, Marquise.
Can you whip your hair around like she could?
I bet you wish you had my AM tee-shirt (that AndyHardy gave me many years ago.)
deal Glebb. i try to *pop* in every once in a blue moon, even if it's just to say hello on this adult thread b4 heading out and "doing my thing"...just soo much i have to take care of sometime i dont have the luxury to sit in front of the pc like i used to...
I hear you. That luxury will cease to exist for me as of Monday.
i bet the t-shirt's hot.
he's been trying to get me to "understand" judy garland...LOL
ive never been able to get into her..but he's trying his damndest...
he wants me to get in touch with my feminine side...LOL

Wow, Judy had me at "hello". LOL.
i think he owns everything she's ever done or touched....i'm suprised he doesn't own the doorknob to her bedroom door..he has this compilation tape of some of her best musical numbers so he had a bunch of his friends (who are bit older than me) over....imagine a group of guys getting together and singing in harmony: "clang clang clang went the trolley....." LOL
i guess im out of the "gay loop"
A melancholy song for a rainy Saturday morning, courtesy of Miss Peggy Lee:
While sitting around, we often recall:
The laugh of the year, the night of them all,
The blonde who was so attractive that year,
Some opening night that made us all cheer...
There's nothing as gay as life in "Paree."
There's no other place that I'd rather be.
I love what I do, and I love what I see,
But where is the schoolgirl who used to be me?
Ah, the apple trees,
Where at garden teas,
Jack o'lanterns hung.
On our backs we'd lie,
Looking at the sky,
Till the stars were strung,
Just a dream ago,
When the world was young.
I don't get Judy either. And my love of Liza is more a bizarre fascination with what she might do to herself next more than anything else.

Good morning, or rather good afternoon fellows. I was just stopping by; I've been lounging around over on the 'One Minute Musicals' thread for a while. How is everyone doing today, on such a gloomy day in the South?!
Good morning DE. Glad to be off today no matter the weather.
It's gray here with snow on the ground, but who cares. No work today!

Woohoo! No work and snow! Couldn't get any better than that!
Oh! Love Peggy PJ! "Folks Who Live On The Hill" is soothing.
There are those who relish the "tragedy" of Judy and Liza and those who respect the "artistry" of Judy and Liza. Glebb, AndyHardy and I fall into the 2nd category, although I don't think any of us would fight with you, Bway, or try to "convert" you, Marquise.
But appreciating Judy is not necessarily about the feminine side--it's more about surviving and experiencing exhilaration in the face of life's vulnerabilities.
Pal, I get why some people love them. I appreciate Liza's showmanship but, god help her, she is one bizarre woman and I find watching her obscenely close to observing some kind of surgical procedure.
good morning everyone...
just stopping by...
hi, Glitz. Oh, and good morning to you, too, Dex. :)
It might be crappy in the South, but it's no better here in the Big, Wet, Rainy Apple either.
I agree about Liza being bizarre, but when she was good, she was a force of nature. Judy goes deeper.
Yes, Glebb! "The Folks Who Live on the Hill" is one of Oscar Hammerstein's most perfect lyrics!
====
Someday we'll build a home on a hilltop high
You and I,
Shiny and new, a cottage that two can fill.
And we'll be pleased to be called
"The folks who live on the hill."
Someday we may be adding a wing or two,
A thing or two.
We will make changes, as any family will,
But we will always be called
"The folks who live on the hill."
Our verandah will command a
View of meadows green:
The sort of view that seems
To want to be seen.
And when our kids grow up and leave us
We'll sit and look at that same old view
Just we two, Darby and Joan
Who used to be Jack and Jill.
The folks who like to be called
What they have always been called
"The folks who live on the hill."
Thanks Pal Joey!
I'm thinking of putting that CD on and getting back into bed.
hey Joey - -
i don't look at it as being "converted"...my friend vic just wants me to expand my horizons...LOL
but i have to be honest with you, i did like some of what i saw last night... "trolley song" was good and that song she did with the sky as a background and she's in a jacket and a hat over one eye... "shout hallelujah" i think is the name of it, was really good too...
