Thanks for the soaker, Bboobs. I can't believe how much they ache.
Hi LA.
Wow... this production was wild...and, tonite, during "Wouldn't it be Loverly" Eliza's petticoat fell down. Luckily the actress is a very calm person she just acted like it was supposed to happen and stepped out of it in beat to the music. Then one of the other cast members picked it up with a flourish and tossed it off stage to me. Which was a surprise to those of us backstage...
Then, one of Higgins' slippers got stuck under the sofa so Eliza had only one to toss at him. And, the assistant director fell backstage while they were rotating scenery and banged her knee. She spent the remainder of the performance icing her knee and having stage crew (teenage boys) handle curtains, etc.
I had to keep refilling the sugar bowl on the tea set because the stage crew (teenage boys)were eating the lumps.
Everytime we did a "blackout" scene change I had to juggle a small flashlight with whatever I was carrying...
I got recruited to help Higgins into a coat and hat for the quick scene change near the end so I had to keep track of his belongings...Eliza's dresser kept forgetting to send a pair of shoes to the other side of the stage so I had to rush them over...
I didn't kill anyone...need I say more.
Aaah..."theatre"...
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
