Can the teenagers (and twentysomethings) please angst?

have you tried talking with your tech director? Maybe if you approach them about how much you really would enjoy teching at a show, and that you've been working hard to get a chance to do so, maybe they will reconsider. Don't argue that 'Well the other kids.. ' or 'Why am I not teching for the show...' Because the other kids have nothing to do with what you are trying to accomplish, and asking them why you weren't picked sort of puts them on the spot. Honestly, I think it's stupid that everyone can't help (unless you have an overwhelming ammount of volunteers). I've never come accross a director who can honestly say that they had TOO MUCH help. Whatever... I'm sure you'll get it next time hun blah
As for your friends, if you don't enjoy their company, then why sit with them? If you aren't happy with the friends you have, then CHANGE IT! Go ask someone new if you can sit with them at lunch. People aren't going to just suddenly decide to introduce themselves to you if you appear to be content with other people. I know it's easier said than done, but just swallow your pride and sit somewhere else. It might take a while for everything to work out but trust me it will be so much better than continuing to hang out with people you hate...

I'm afraid of him...

I should try your suggestion, but I don't know how. A lot of the people in my lunch don't like me already... Why am I so unlikeable? Answer honestly.

But thank you anyway. Somedays, bww people are all that keep me sane.

I don't think so either, Nia. I LIKE you! Quite a bit actually, for a young lass from Ohio. blah

Ways to annoy people: Arrive at a meeting late, say you're sorry, but you didn't have time for lunch, and you're going to be nibbling during the meeting. Then eat raw potatoes. Ask people what gender they are,or Disagree strongly with everything anybody says:)

sweetie, i consider you one of my friends and you do not suck. i can definitely relate to how you feel. i was exactly the same in high school. i dreeaaaaded lunch because that's the time everyone can see if and who you're sitting with. i would just head outside and sit by myself outside of the nearest tree and read, so it seemed like i was alone by choice. god i would never go back to high school. well, i told you all the crap that happened in high school, and that's a whole other story.

but hun, honestly it gets better after high school. (i wouldn't tell you this if it wasn't true - there's nothing i like more than wallowing in self-pity and cynicism.) i would NEVER relive high school. but once you get into IB, you meet other people who are similar to you, and when you get into college, it's even better because everyone in your major are interested in the same things that you are. plus you're more anonymous.

Aw, thanks. I love you all too. Broadwayworld people are far more mature than the usual he-said-she-said types I get stuck with all day. I'll hang in there.

I'm sorry, Poni! That sucks. What kind of dancing do you do?
