Is it bad of me that when I see a new name on this thread or any other threads I frequent on, my immediate reaction is "Do I or don't I like this person? Have I flamed them before? Have they flamed me? Should I flame them now and see what happens?"

Hello Rose. Do I like you? re: Can the teenagers please angst?

We can stick with yes, until I figure out why you sound familiar. If I don't recoil in disgust/fear, I suppose that's a good thing.

You're not a Wicklyn, are you?

I wanna angst!

I want to start the comment about hating my parents! wooo.

I just feel like I'm a great teenager considering half the crap I could be getting myself into... and my grades are good and I'm so involved. But nothing's ever good enough for them.

Anyone ever feel that way?
I have to get out of here FAST!

Yup. Even living in my 20s, my parents can be overbearing.

Asian parents. Oy.

Every day I check the rent prices in NYC and Vancouver and dream of the day I'm moving out.

Actually, I never had that problem with my parents. I get along with them pretty well and I've always been allowed to do mostly whatever I want so long as if I'm still out and it's like 3am and I didn't tell them I was going to be out, I give them a call. They really don't get on my case, at least not about that kind of thing or about school. Probably because they see me stress myself out about it enough. But then again, I'm apparently the odd one out on that topic.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

I'm hoping college saves me from this hellhole.
Then I can block calls and ignore them re: Can the teenagers please angst?

That's so weird to me. I live with my parents but that's really not an issue. They don't stop me from doing anything. I guess I'm really lucky or really weird.

my parents don't stop me from doing anything, but they guilt me and nag me about my education.

speaking of which, it doesn't get better in university. it gets worse, because that's when your entire future/career is on the line. get out while you can.

I still live at home, the biggest reason being that I can't afford to move out on my crap salary. But I get along with my family pretty well, so at least there's little drama.
And I still really need to make out with someone. Anyone else in the same boat?

Why can't parents do the decent thing, and cater to our every whim? I mean, really. Parents are there to be abused.

Well, I moved out (to go to school) last year. I miss some of the comforts of home (like not doing my laundry) and I miss my family, but it's wonderful to be on my own too. My parents have never told me I couldn't do anything...guess I'm really lucky.
