I'm not gonna make a lengthy trip report. Here's the highlights:

1) I had eight flights in total, including connections. Flew from NC to Tucson, AZ with a layover in Dallas. Flew from Tucson to Burbank with a Phoenix Layover. And all vice versa.

Danny Devito was on my flight from Phoenix to Burbank. I think his daughter was with him. And some other guy - an assistant? He walked by me, nearly bumping into me, to get onto the plane. And then when I left the Burbank airport waiting for my ride, he stood next to me again waiting for his.

2) My cousin was the groom. Bride's aunt sent everyone specific directions to get from their resorts/hotels to the wedding ceremony. She vitally misspelled a street name on our point by point list. We got there right before they exchanged vows. Embarrassing to be the closest non-immediate family of the groom and be late.

3) ALL my flights were delayed. ALL of them...except going home. On one flight, we got off the plane, went next door to the other gate to get on the plane to Tuscon. We saw our luggage getting off the plane we came from..didn't make it. Got lost. We didn't receive it until the next night. American Airlines wants to compensate us by sending a complimentary $25 toiletry bag. F*CK OFF!

4) One flight said it was delayed 15 mins. 15 mins later, another announcement saying delayed again 15 mins due to bad weather in the destination area. Every 15 minutes the same announcement. One hour and 15 minutes later, we're told the flight was cancelled. I go in line to find out about other flights, and then an announcement that my flight would be boarding in 15 minutes. BITCHES.

5) DO NOT go to the Tombstone city in AZ. And DEFINITELY do not visit the OK Corrall. Tourists traps. They advertise "witness an award winning re-enacttment of the famous Doc Holliday gun fight at the OK Corrall." The locals talk it up. Locals - meaning the people who work in the shops. It was HORRIBLE. Hot, bugs all over the place, and HORRIBLE acting, HORRIBLE audio (no mics) and dreadful in every way. I paid $25 for a "value ticket" to have a miserable time.

Got a little lost and spoke to a REAL Tombstone local. He said the OK Corrall junk are total rip-offs.

The town features three restaurants: Dairy Queen, Wendy's, and Denny's. I must say, the Denny's SHOCKED me. Very cheap, GREAT food, and GREAT service. Left a HEFTY tip.

Talking about delayed flights:

My recent flight from JFK to Paris was delayed 1 hr. That meant I missed my connecting flight from Paris to Pau. The next flight out was five hours later and Air France charged me an extra $350 for an additional ticket to Pau. In addition, I had to get myself to another airport across town.

My flight insurance only covers flights that are delayed 12 hours or more.

I am now trying to get Air France to reimburse me.

Good luck DP. They just had a multibillion Euro Airbus slide off a runway in Toronto (most likely because the copilot was getting a blowjob)... they've got big debt.

Capn, sorry you had all this trouble, but......do you fly or travel much at all?
Or do you read the paper? This is the way of air travel these days. It is at an alltime low......
I fly American through Dallas all the time, and never have had a problem.......so it really depends on the day, flight etc.
There is nothing wrong with Tombstone, AZ, as long as you know what you're getting into. It's a tourist town, like many other places in the US that has a specific history........that's just how it it. What were you expecting, Wyatt Earp et al to leave their graves for you? lol
