What is your opinion on this music school? It's one of the top five in the nation for vocal performance, mostly opera based but with a musical theater path

Some greats graduated from there...

(Donna Lynne Champlin and Emily Skinner to name a few... or two... *wink*)

It's said they're the best because they have a really strong focus on acting... the musical theatre students apparently are given the same curriculum as the theatre students, with music and dance classes on top. Basically you're working overtime if you're a musical theatre major. re: Carnegie-Mellon

"You! You are the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Lloyd Webber! And you, well, I just plain don't like you."

I'm going there for a live audition in vocal performance in Febuary, had to make a cd and everything! Also the guy who played Raoul in Phantom of the Opera the movie is a graduate there.

I know two women that graduated from Carnegie Mellon, one with a BFA in Vocal Performance and the other with a BFA in Musical Theatre. And HOLY JESUS! They are the best singers I've ever heard. I would recommend Carnegie Mellon... they told me that they LOVED it there!

Megan Hilty, current Glinda standby just graduate from there not too long ago. When I went to one of their open houses this past summer, there was publicity for the production of The Wild Party where she played Queenie on campus. I think my tour guide even co-starred w/ Megan in it.
