Some greats graduated from there...
(Donna Lynne Champlin and Emily Skinner to name a few... or two... *wink*)
It's said they're the best because they have a really strong focus on acting... the musical theatre students apparently are given the same curriculum as the theatre students, with music and dance classes on top. Basically you're working overtime if you're a musical theatre major.

Posted: 1/17/05 at 2:32pmI know two women that graduated from Carnegie Mellon, one with a BFA in Vocal Performance and the other with a BFA in Musical Theatre. And HOLY JESUS! They are the best singers I've ever heard. I would recommend Carnegie Mellon... they told me that they LOVED it there!

When I went to one of their open houses this past summer, there was publicity for the production of The Wild Party where she played Queenie on campus. I think my tour guide even co-starred w/ Megan in it.
