So, I went to their website and everything on there about applying and audition dates is still from last year. Does anyone know how to find out when the audition dates are? They sent me an application in the mail, but they're not on there. Call maybe?
Thanks.

definitely give them a call, that will also give you a chance to ask any other questions you have...admissions people are usually really nice, especially if you aren't calling them at their busiest times. since you're calling relatively early, you should get plently of personal attention.
good luck!!

I actually had the same problem with that so I called the office of admissions there. If I remember correctly they said by mid-September it should be up...I'm pretty sure that's what they said but you might want to call and doubt check. Also I would say join their mailing list so you could recieve that and other updates. Hope that helped. I would jsut keep checking the site...that's what I'm going to do. Because when I called the lady said that they weren't even sure of the dates yet( I called about a week ago) and she said when they were they would be posted in a few weeks...jsut keep checking it can't be later than this month. I know how you feel though...I know all the dates for my schools except them and it's frustrating me!
DEFINITELY join the mailing list... or, if possible, e-mail list. CMU is all about the e-mails. EVERYTHING is about the e-mails. XD Techie reputation, you know.
But once they know, you'll be able to find out easily, and the admissions people are always very personable.

CMU usually puts up their audition dates for online registration during the first week in October. You can pay your audition fee by credit card online when you schedule. Keep checking because once they're up, they fill up very quickly and you may not get the date you want.

I despise CMU's "schedule your audition online." This past winter, I got to CMU for my audition and they told me that I never scheduled an interview and never paid the audition fee. And I did both of those things because I printed out the confirmation email, which I had with me, and my mom remembered seeing the fee on her last credit card bill. Anyway, I had to beg them to bring in someone from the directing department so I could do my audition that day. Needless to say, I was not accepted.

PJ, I am sorry this happened to you. I can relate. I am a parent of a student who applied to CMU for Musical Theater last year. Like you, we did the audition registration and paid the fee online (which is the only method you can do for CMU), and we did it on the very first day that appointments were allowed to be made online. I also printed out the confirmation and the fact that it was paid (warning to others reading this....PRINT OUT COPIES OF EVERYTHING). We went ahead and made flight arrangements as well as connected this audition with another audition on the same weekend in the same state. Quite sometime later, I was checking on CMU's website where you can look up your own account in admissions where they show which documents were received and which, if any, are still needed/missing. I noticed that it said that an audition appointment was not yet made. Of course, I was concerned thinking that the audition date now must be filled and my daughter would not be able to do it, yet we had a confirmation and had paid. I called the school and they did not have her down for the audition but they asked me to send a copy of my confirmation to their office. Luckily I had it and when they got it, they put her back on for the date and time we had reserved. Had I not noticed this missing on that individual data page online, we'd have had the same experience as you had.
So, I am sharing this to let others know to not only print out everything or make copies of everything sent to admissions, but also to go back and check that schools have everything, reconfirm appointments, etc.
My daughter was priority waitlisted at CMU. She has now started NYU/Tisch in CAP21.

Umm... I definitely already know their audition schedule for this year... why doesn't anyone else?
Becuase it's not on their website and they're not responding to emails:) Care to share?

The School of Drama is not very good about responding to e-mails promptly (even though they will tell you to e-mail them). I would definitly call the School of Drama directly (not the university), and ask any questions you have. The staff here is wonderful and will go out of their way to accomodate you if they can.
The best suggestion I can give you if you are going to apply here at all is to COME VISIT. Sit in on several of our classes for a day. If the faculty see you around the building and actively joining their classes, they WILL remember you, and the whole process will ultimatly be easier (especially when/if you come here and all the upperclassmen and teachers remember you). We're a small department, so we all know everyone.

Hmm. I really would love to visit, but my parents have the brilliant idea that we should visit and audition at the same time for out-of-state schools I'm looking at so we don't have to make two trips, especially now that I'm back in school. :-/ Thanks for the info though! I'll try calling this week.
Ok, the dates are up... but I can't seem to figure out how to actually apply for an audition! Anyone wanna help me out?
I called them and they just said I need the newest browser... and I think I have the newest browser... but I'm very confused.
They basically suck.
