Every once in a while, an aging world figure gives an interview that ever so slightly alters the way things are and, possibly, the future course of history. What Castro says to Admadinejad in this remarkable interview in The Atlantic may be dismissed or derided, but it can never be unsaid.

He criticized Ahmadinejad for denying the Holocaust and explained why the Iranian government would better serve the cause of peace by acknowledging the 'unique' history of anti-Semitism and trying to understand why Israelis fear for their existence."
